HI my lovely. Great to see you doing so well. Kudos to your partner, he sounds like a gem - it makes such a difference when your parnter is so supportive to your needs. I feel your pain re the bank statement - we spend our time avoiding looking at them when in the grip of our addiction but reality really hits home when we do read them in the cold light of day, not in the haze of our destructive behaviour.

Mine still not really talking about it but will engage in conversation which is more than he ever has. Thanks alan, annie, tilly, dean and loxxie. Not been on much as done nothing but sleep after my 5 nights got same again this weekoh the jjoys but off on a/l week after. Well had a horrible dream last night that I had relapsed and gambled woke up pretty shaken this morning but also relieved that it was just a horrible dream. Cant believe i have been gamble free 40 days today which is a very very good feeling .. pay day again next week so hopefully will be able to get a car finally so bloody sick of c**P public transport. Well 6 weeks gf today not thought about playing online slots but aftet attending ga monday i think it must be really difficult for people that gamble on the horses due to it being chel8as its rammed in your face all over tv which is not good so just for today i will not gamble.

Thanks loxxie hun and I suppose I can't understand it as that wasn't my weakness but I bet those who bet on horses couldn't get what we do. Was just sad at Ga how affected people were about Cheltenham even to the point of saying they would lock themselves away for 4 days 🙁 I was talking to oh on Monday night about the advertising on TV and social media and even he said it's disgusting how no matter what time of day it is there's always something to do with gambling. I have lost count of the number of adverts that I have blocked on my Facebook stupid bloody things

I really struggled this week

I used to gamble everyday even Christmas Day hardly ever on the horses other than the national and Cheltenham.

Cheltenham week was different every race is top quality. Every race was like a feature Race. All the top horses against each other. It was more the spectacle than the gambling that was just a byproduct.

I've missed it this week. Do I want to go to the pub on Friday for gold cup day as I gave for the past 10 years? Yes I do. Will I be going not this year but I hope on day I can enjoy it for the special event it is but with my addiction that might all be pie on the sky.

Morning all hope everyone is well. Have not posted since wed been busy with work but also had a horrible day yesterday as from no where the urge to gamble hit me like ton of bricks. I don't know if its all the adverts and bloody emails i keep seeing anyhow i rang my oh who was at work and told him how i was feeling which helped alot . Just so scary how it creeps up on you and wham smacks you in the face. But i didn't gamble where as normally in past attempts to stop i would give in but MR MURDOCH your not having my hard earned money ever again. i feel ok today and 46 days gf is nice to say and just for today i will not gamble.

Well done merc. ...so proud of you...you are the winner....just goes to show how important it is for us all to have blocks in place...vile addiction creeping up on us at any time..

Just to add my support to you. I'm fed up with all of us being tarred with the same brush. We haven't all stolen, lied etc - ffs, yesterday it was intimated that 90% of us were victims of child sexual abuse. I haven't messaged the user you have had the problem with, and she hasn't messaged me - we have probably got the measure of one another and just stay out of each others way. You're doing brilliantly so far, don't let bitter comments de-rail you.
