I wondered if anyone else would like to contribute to this thread. We all know the reasons and how different our lives can be if we never gamble. Perhaps people may like to contribute so anyone with a craving can have a read through. Maybe it might just stop a bad decision. Thanks for any contribution.

When I don't gamble I can be me
To be able to live a normal life.
To spare myself from being reduced to begging, stealing or borrowing.
So i don't hurt anybody i love-friend,family or partner.
Not upgrading the bookies mercedes every year..
NO MORE LIES!!( no wallets lost-stolen,no overtime not paid, money not in the bank ,car breaking down,lent it out) TO THE ONES WE LOVE.
To rejoin life
Cause it only causes us and those we care about, problems and grief.
to lead a normal life, that does not include hurting the ones we love. And to start living life, not just existing day to day
Because a New House is more important to me than Newmarket
Because i realise that being lucky enough to have people who care about me is more important to me than a lucky 15
Because starting a family is more important to me than the start button on a roulette machine
So my wife doesn't have to pretend to others that everything is okay whilst she is hurting inside.
To one day be able to look back on my life and think thank god I didn't waste it
To be happy & normal.....
