A good week so far , work ok not too stressful life seems straightforward so no complaints

Been reading lots over the forum , on the new members forum read loads of opening posts full of determination after enduring so much pain and misery only to maybe post one more time or not again , the realisation of what we are dealing with is overwhelming at times it just shows to me the power gambling has how it can mentally trick you into going back to gambling is a good idea the power it has to make you feel weak within days of feeling so determined not to gamble again , everyone who keeps trying should be so proud and put that into their recovery

The proof is on here that lives can be changed and recovery is bespoke there really is no right or wrong for me keep fighting and life will get better

Hi castle,

Great post and nodding along agreeing that life can definitely change for the better if we keep abstaining. Me as yourself already been in that good place and there is no reason why we cannot reach it again.

Small steps away from self destruction will only bring peace, calmness and happiness in our lives.

Good to hear that work has levelled out. Hope it stays this way. Journey is a hell of a lot easier without stress crossing the path.

keep up the good work and be proud

S x

Thanks suzanne

A working weekend just gone another 4 days to go before a day off but with so much to do it will fly by , these last two days when finished I have struggled with my knees both having arthritis in them they were so sore , I don't complain much though as I know it could be much worse , the more concern is long term and how it will it affect to do my job in years to come

One day at a time though so can't worry about long term problems I can't fix , life is steady no issues short term , pay day Thursday and will look to add a few more pounds to mine and jess's savings

I can't really ask for much more than that , I keep looking at the turmoil financially and more so mentally 3 years ago before I admitted my problem

Hi castle,

Thanks for your message.

You are right to not to worry about long term problems we can't fix, and I sympathise with you on your knees, long shifts standing all the time and walking a lot(which I do) I do a lot of miles a day in my store, does take its toll especially when on double shifts lol.

You are doing great with your recovery, keep going, taking one day at a time.

Suzanne xx

Thanks Sandra Suzanne

Had a really difficult time logging on , my username had changed and my password has gone back to an old one , the username I managed to find in my junk email , not sure why all emails from gamcare drop in there , I suppose it could have been much worse I hope others haven't had as much trouble esp with the need to post , like many im guessing I'm currently working my way round the forums and wishing it was back to the old site lol , change is the one thing many people hate but it has to be done ironically we all had to make a change when it came to gambling

Been a mixed week , work full on and tiring not getting much time with jess in the early parts but been off for the last couple of days so had time to rest and spend loads of time with jess , bought her a Halloween outfit and took her trick or treating , today we are off to a firework display all things that need paying for so it's good to be in a position with no money worries , even started Xmas shopping early ! , got jess a sheff wed football shirt with her name and number on the back , the plan is to keep picking bits up and not to have to delve into my savings but I guess that's what they are their for

still taking it one day at a time as I wouldn't say life is brilliant and the happiest I have been but it's definetely not the unhappiest I have been , now that gambling no longer controls my life it's there for me to see the improvements that have been made but it doesn't give you a golden ticket for happiness

off to spend a fantastic day with jess and for me that's all that matters , tomorrow I will deal with then

Hi Castle, Lovely to see you back and posting and even more, hearing you are marching on with confidence and strength. Way to go my friend, life is not rosy but it doesn't grind your feet every step you make. I guess it could be a lot worse, but it's not. Keep making that effort to live and enjoy every day, i shall do the same 🙂 thank you for your ongoing support. Look after yourself and rest well. S xx

Thanks Sandra Joan

A good week so far so no complaints , logged on many times but couldn't post tried to read and the pages were jumping everywhere , I'm guessing still a few teething problems on that front , work still hard but keeping the stress levels low , jess not very well which is unlike her think it's just a 24 hour bug so hoping she is much better this morning after a good nights sleep

A straight forward post keeping life simple long may it continue !
