Thanks Suzanne Sandra

Think your right Sandra it's all about been comfortable with ourselves , I wouldnt have dreamed of sharing my mug with the world lol at the start of my recovery the shame of it all was high on the list of what gambling gave to me , now I feel proud of what I have achieved not perfect but improvements have been made , also it's importamt to keep a little fun in our lives

Jess much better but did have her first day off sick from school just more precautionary than anything else , back to her usual self now though , start of a 6 day shift today which to be honest I don't mind it's my choice it will keep me busy , keep picking bits up for Xmas so it doesn't hit me all at once savings still intact but will have to use them soon loads of birthdays coming up , Xmas and the car has its mot coming up soon that's what is there for im just pleased I have it better than having all the stress and worry of finding it from somewhere

Castle

fella good to put a face to the thread,I do beleive it is another step in the right direction to be unashamed that you are a compulsive gambler, because you are doing something to address it,gifting yourself recovery.

My friend I remember the incident before when you motor needed fixing and addiction used it to it's gain.Another lesson learned fella, one which is a gift,a self appointed gift of recovery.

Keep taking it,keep winning

Most of all enjoy it!!

Abstain and maintain

Duncs stepping forward never back

Hi Castle,

Not been active on the site but thought I would have a look tonight and, as always, your name was the first I noticed. I hope things are going well for you and you and Jess are enjoying life.

Tomso.

Hi Castle,

Glad to see you're on the recovery path again, and heading in the right direction. As for buying Jess a Sheff Wednesday shirt, I'm not convinced that is the right direction! 😉

Well done for continuing to beat this one day at a time, and hope your hard work in the build up to Christmas pays off. Keep knocking this gambling on its head, and it will definitely be better than when the demons ruled.

All the best

Ryan

Thanks everyone

A good week at work got everything done I pretty much wanted to do , now off for 3 days and will try and switch off from it , will no doubt have to speak daily as there is that much communication coming down and need to stay on top of it

Parents evening for jess and another glowing report so really proud of her , she's in her final year at primary school and has her sats next year the expectation by her teacher is to be at a level 5 in everything so couldn't be happier than that , big jump for her then going up to comp from been the oldest to the youngest , very scary ! Think more for me than her , can't deal with that now just going to really enjoy my time with her

No other worries life not wonderful but it's not bad and for now I will take that

Thanks Sandra Suzanne

Well a blow out was coming and its now been and gone , took a bit of a hit financially but not disastrous just enough for the realisation thst I need to get back on track , I know myself well and could feel it was going to happen in truth still not recovered from my relstionship breakdown a few months back I have always felt like I had taken a backward step I guess life was exciting and fresh lots to look forward to then all of it gone , it was my choice and the right one but it's still hit me hard much harder than I thought , in s way I'm pleased it's happen has i now can refocus and start to move forward again

I have all the tools and knowledge to get through this I'm not beating myself up as I always say there is an acceptance of who I am and what I am capable of , life will always throw something up and it will be tough to deal with I made a bad choice with how to deal with it , so back to basics and get my head clear once again

As always no sympathies please
