Thank you for the nudge 🙂 i must be hibernating this month lol and can only see benefits of that. Same as yourself i made a decision to have some time off these pages, a bit of soul searching put it this way.

Been full on at work last week had a visit from big boss which went reasonably well they will come and go as always so try not to stress about it , then been badly last few days picked up a sickness bug as always still worked when shouldn't but that's me I don't do Ill

Xmas nearly here and I'm ok on that front , jess getting excited and for me that's what it is all about so it's just about making it a fantastic time for her

Had a really good day yesterday , it was such a pleasure to see the delight on jess's face opening all her presents , this year I spent the more than ever on her which for me is great as she gets to open more but she wouldn't mind if there was less it was more important for me to be on the position to buy everything with no money worries esp caused by gambling losses and even with a couple of relapses towards the end of the year financially they didn't hurt , I know 100% I will never go back to all that misery and have the confidence and belief that if a slip happens I can deal with it with all the tools and knowledge I have

I had a pleasant afternoon with parents after jess went , was only on my own a couple of hours but stuck a film on had a drink then early night ready for work this morning , there was a lot of concerns on my side about the big day but in truth there was not much to be concerned about

With xmas going forward a corner has been turned

The weather has caused mayhem for me with work and pushed the stress levels right through the roof , the only day I have had off is xmas day in the last 9 and worked way too many hours in between got another 2 days to work then hopefully off for 3 days , it tears me apart that I have not seen as much of jess as I would have like but work has had to come first that's what gives her the life she has , the amount of work that needs doing is incredible there is just no let up , my advice for anyone is steer well clear of retail for a career if you want to savour and enjoy xmas

The positive is the strength of my recovery all this would have caused a huge melt down and reckless ganmbling would have played a part , taking it one day at a time has really helped surviving each day

Yes not posted for a while , a mixture of things really work been busy as always jess taking up a lot of my time and attention which is not a bad thing , mainly though had a lot to occupy my mind and not felt the need to post anything worthwhile

Today though I have massive news for my recovery , after 5 years at my current store I sm finally leaving and moving to another location , this will allow me now to close some doors firmly shut on the past and open some new doors going forward ,I have always stated it s been difficult to move on from so much happening , personally getting divorced getting mixed up in an affair going nowhere gambling every day and work wise making staff redundant whilst going through the most difficult period in years , still though taking it one day at a time and that's the focus I'm wise enough to know the grass will be not much greener on the other side and there will always be problems in life where gambling will want to play a part , but this is a massive opportunity to take more strides forward

Start in my new store on the 2nd feb which is my birthday so a nice present from work , my last day is Thursday at my current store and its going to be an emotional day , so much has happened in the 5 years there it's been a roller coaster of a ride going through so many experiences personally and through work , so to be able to close that door on them will be overwhelming , then on the sat we are all going out from work and again after a few drinks there will be a few emotions after that a fresh start will begin a new chapter in my life

For me its a pivotal point in my life a crossroad if you like and I'm determined to choose the right one
