DAY 1
Hello,
I am 24 years old. I have been gambling ever since I was 17 and now I have finally hit rock bottom. I am in tons of debt, hate how my personality has changed and am in some serious need for change.
I gamble mostly on sports betting (live in play), I am heavily addicted to any live sporting event I can bet on. I get home from work, I get the laptop and gamble on literally anything from Russian volleyball matches to Romanian basketball - literally the addiction is laughable.
I owe my old man money and the bank £3000. However, what I have lost in the last 6-7 years must be close to £20k. I gamble everything I work for.
I feel this diary could really help me recover from this horrible drug and I really hope I can reach as many gambling free milestones as possible.
All help would be greatly appreciaited.
DAY 2
Just woken up, about to plan my day. Feeling very down about things but onwards and upwards. Will write at the end of the day.
DAY 2 (Sunday)
Kept myself very busy, still the thought of gambling, losses etc came to my mind a few times which made me slightly down.
Saw friends, played sport so all round was a good day. Lets hope I can keep busy.
Now for a week of work, which I always find hard as I like to look at sports betting during working hours.
DAY 3
First day of recovery when working. I normally find this the hardest, however, keeping my mind on the job at hand and concentrating on the future. Have social events planned after work so remaining busy.
DAY 4
Yesterday was fine - Same kind of busy day. The urge isnt here really, that is also due to the fact I have no money to play with. As I have read on previous posts, when the pay cheque comes in is when the urge arrives.
I feel im getting stronger day by day.
The road to recovery continues.
DAY 5
Day of work followed by football training and socialising. No urge.
