Thanks for the support...really great to read other people positive comments ...I saw this crazy advert EARLIER and I just thought I would mention it ..

It said 4 people every second win on a scratchcard...well I have never won anything besides the odd quid or two...makes you wonder how many people actually lose every second....

Well? No disprespect to ******* and the good causes that the lottery goes towards...(if it actually ever gets there). However, I do know a actual true life event that happened recently to my partners friends, friend she used to spend around £40 -50 every week on scratchcards and I doubt she ever won...Very sadly she commited suicide about a month ago.... So bad...but I have never had a problem with this type of gambling. On the other hand, I always used to start my episodes of gambling by saying to myself "Have a flutter on the lottery its harmless". This type of behaviour was always my trigger to get bored and start up on the FOBTS...so, in essence for me..one thing always leads to another...I guess i MUST NEVER ever! Let my gaurd down to any form of gambling....and I think you should do the same!

I certainly would LOVE it if there were more publicity on how much people actually LOSE.

"4 people win every second on a scratchcard."

How untrue is the above. My definition of 'win' is long-term. Now, how many of those 4 people will win in the long term?

I think that we all know the answer to that. Scratchcards were around at the start of my journey to debt and disappointment. OK, I know that they are not easy to lose big on as it would certainly raise a few eyebrows if you ask for 100 scratchcards in one swoop. But it is still a form of 'attractive' gambling and there are plenty of people who simply cannot afford to spend £5 on a single scratchcard.

I would keep away from fruit machines totally though as they are the home of those evil little thoughts that try and get you back into gambling. There must be other places where you can get a tan.

Stay strong, mate, and keep those evil thoughts far, far away from your mind.

Well done on keeping yourself gamble-free mate, every time you don't gamble you're winning and the bookie is losing. Even if it does give a share to good causes, it's only doing that so it gets its hands on your money.

As for the tanning mate, you're more likely to get windburn in this country than sunburn!

All the best

Hi Fast life you are doing really well, i am on day 9 of stopping gambling but i also stopped for 3 years, so i know i can do this again, you are so right when you say even when you are bored, you should not go and gamble it will just bring misery in the end. I am starting to realise that i do need to stop thinking about money every day and just enjoy every day that i am here. Life is too short i worry too much and everything, which probably did need to gamble to escape, just got to face life head on and enjoy myself at least try too. 🙂

Hi fast life. You were one of the first to post on my diary. You will always be a gambler, so will I, so will everybody on here. It's just a case of controlling it. Keep posting big fella, you are doing very well.
