65 days have never been this long without gambling I have had the urge the last few days and I do know I would have gambling but the triangle has broken so cannot push that self destruct button. The days are racking up and have been busy working and doing things with family.
Things are not perfect and have other stuff going on that seems out of my control but I'm slowly gaining it back and becoming stronger, im not where I want to be yet but getting there looking forward to the triple figures.

70 days so pleased with myself this month have been able to pay off my rent arrears not miss any direct debits and decorate the kids room, I would not have been able to this whilst gambling. I have money and time now to do the things I should have been doing for so many years. No more stress from the destruction of gambling.

Thank you Sandra. Taking away the ability to gamble has been the key for me. I am in such a better place. I seriously never thought I could go this far, I have saved money and stress and not getting into no more debt. I have a bout 90 pounds left to pay back towards debt next month then I just have my Dmp which I pay of monthly.
All the best to you Sandra

Hi no more losing. I realise this is an old post, but reading your first posts it almost could of been myself writing them! I've been having the same problem with online slots. As soon as I'm paid, weekly it's gone. I have managed 3 days so far, mainly because I spent every penny as usual! I'm sick of it. I to am a parent and have debts and bad credit history because instead of paying what I owe I have gambled the lot. I just wondered if your still gamble free? Also who did you contact to help sort out all your debts? I'm new and unsure where to get help with all my debts. I to want to sort out my credit score and eventually get a mortgage, do you know how to go about sorting things out and the best way to re build credit rating? Have you managed to do this? Any advise would be appreciated. I have self excluded and still searching for a blocker on my iPhone. Unfortunately I'm the only adult in the house and don't have anyone to hand my finances over to, so I have to be strong and do this alone. I hope everything is still going well for you x

Thanks for the reply yea still free, I would have never thought I could get this far, for me the key was handing finances over because there's no way I can gamble, I started to look after myself more go gym and do lots more with kids Park and and that sort of thing. I searched online and signed up to Gregory Pennington and they were helpful but they do take a percentage of the monthly payment I make so I would go with a non profit one so you can clear the debts quicker.
They will take care of getting into contact with the creditors and the interest should freeze while it's being processed. I even changed banks to a think money account and you pay 15 a month and it allows you to not spend your direct debits and you never receive late fees or penalties and there's no overdraft.
Sorting out your debts is going to be a start but you have to never bet again. Get rid of the phone if you have to and get a basic phone then you have no temptation. Or think about getting a cash card instead so can't be used online. Get a new bank card and scratch the last three digits at the back if you have to. Do anything literally to stop yourself.
There is too much temptation and urges and you will think sod it just 20 quid and you know the rest. I have got stronger but I could not have done it alone Without speaking with someone.
Is there anyone you can tell this too.
I want to help you anyway I can, life without gambling is a better life, once you stop you will have less stress and won't feel depressed.
For the first time in years I can go out and buy things and treat my children ( which I do, Alot lol) probably making it up because I couldn't before.
I stopped before came clean to my mum paid of debts and everything was fine and then had an urge and was back to square one and in even more debt. It's very hard to do on your own, don't kid yourself go cold turkey, I will support you if you need help.
All the time I use to waste time and be miserable at my kids because I had lost or I wanted more time to gamble and couldn't. Life is so much better and will be the same for you.
I'm sorry for the long post and hope it makes sense, I'm not trying to be blunt but I have been there and I hate the thought of someone else feeling the way I did hopeless and useless but I turned it around and if I can you can.
Please keep me posted.
Be strong
X

I have a rare midweek day to myself today was just thinking this usually would be a time when I'd go straight on to a gambling website whichever one I wasn't self excluded from and waste all my time and money, glad I'm not that person anymore. My day consists of packing and tidying up and out with the mum later.
Have a good day everyone
