So I'm on day 7.Â
I get paid a week today. I normally avoid checking my online banking as normally I dont have anything left by now. But guess what I do ?. Its not alot but it's enough to see me through. This is a great feeling. I want more feelings like this.Â
Thank you everyone who has shared their stories, they have given me so much hope and strength.Â
Â
Well done Claire!
Its nice that you can see the results of leading a GF life so soon.
Be proud of yourself!
Hope you have a nice day, stay safe.

I too have woken up today able to pay all bills and wages! ?
I won’t have much left Personally to get me through the month but that doesn’t matter. I know things will continue to get better so long as we keep doing what we’re doing and not gamble.
well done Claire. I think first week is the hardest as the urge to chase losses are strong. Keep up the good fight darling! ?

Hi Claire
I am also on day 7, what a difference a week makes! It’s good to see that you are already in a better position than you were before, just think how good you will feel on your next pay day!
Thanks everyone. Today have been a good day xÂ
Raffle tickets ?
I go to slimming world each wee and buy a strip of tickets. Technically gambling but the buying of the tickets helps fund the club. Will I break my gamble free streak if I buy some xÂ
On another note.. day off work today and I would normally have gone to bingo during the day, woke up this morning without that desire to go. I'm actually looking forward to doing my housework. Before the thought of being stuck at home doing that and not seeing anyone would have filled me with dread. Â
Wishing you all a good day. XXÂ
Claire personally the raffle ticket in thing.. Well just give a donation.. The prize isn't life changing.. But I understand what you mean.. I have similar at our monthly quiz. Play your cards right. But as the prize is money I don't engage in it. I go to slimming world but there is a local charity box on the table so I put into that.
I wouldn't consider the slim world raffle as gambling personally but thats my slant.. That said if it could be a trigger or make you feel like you are gambling don't buy one..Â
It's nice you have shared this concern...Â

Hi ClaireÂ
Thank you for your post. You summed it up in one - a little bottle of I love you. It’s amazing how something so simple can make someone’s day. And I guess that is the thing, we need to go back to appreciating and being grateful for the little things in life.Â
Ive just read the post about the bingo hall being opposite your work. That is really tough as temptation is sitting in front of you everyday. Have you thought about checking if you can self exclude by phone? That’s what I did and saves the embarrassment of having to go in club if the brand offers telephone exclusion.Â
Do you feel ready to self-exclude?Â

Yeah it is hard being so close, if I'm honest I dont want to give up the bingo just the slots, I have always been happy to spend less than £20 on the bingo, so in time and definitely not yet I'm going to give it ago, i will only take the money i am able to spend with no cards.Â
I might have a chat with some of the staff to let them know about my problem with the slots so they know and can encourage me to stay away.. they have done this for a lady in the club before. They used to let her in the staff entrance so she didnt even have to see the slots. They are really good in that club.Â
But this is way off, I know I'm not ready yet. My friend has a bingo party in April so I'll see how I feel then. Good thing is that it's a party so no slots xÂ
Hi ClaireÂ
Thank you for your post on my diary, it means a lot. I’m actually doing surprisingly well and almost feel back to normal other than a very tight month ahead financially. I went back to work today so got a bit of normality back. Â
How are you getting on?Â

Hello Claire. Hope you have had a good weekend.
I have just been reading some of your posts. The church & drama group you mentioned seems like a good way of socialising and having fun. I suppose there are many activities and social events that can be enjoyable and don't make us sad.
Your adventures at the slimming club made me smile.
Â
Wishing you every happiness as you continue on your life journey

Hi Claire
Thank you for popping by my diary and giving your support.Â
I have to say I wouldn’t be a bit impressed if I had a dog that barked and woke me up on a Sunday at 6am. I hope you weren’t too tired for the rest of the day.Â
The pub quiz sounds like fun, unfortunately I don’t have anyone to go to these things with and I think that’s half the battle. I need to find some activities that I’m happy to go to on my own, in the hour of making new friends. The bit about weight watchers has given me food for thought and seeing as I need to lose weight, I may see where the local group is.Â
Unlike you, I slept in until really late so now have the problem if not being tired and being awake half the night. Maybe being woken up by a dog early wouldn’t be quite so bad.?
Anyway, I hope you have a good week.Â
