I am on day 7 of no gambling and I feel so much better already. This time last week I was an absolute mess, today I feel 100x better than I did last week. I have had urges this weekend with there being all the football on but I’ve stayed strong and I’m proud of myself.
Although I do not have much money at the moment, I’ve sat down and properly worked out my outgoings, money left over to pay my debts and what I’ll have left to myself. I have a much clearer head right now and seeing the figures properly was a massive eye opener.
This time next year I will be debt free with some money saved setting up a better future for me and my family and that’s all the motivation I need to keep me from gambling.
I know it’s not going to be easy and there’s still a long way to go yet, but having a positive mind really makes a difference.

Yes very well done to all of us actually, as I too am about the same time off. It is so freeing to be away from the madness of addiction. I am trying so hard this time to do things differently. I simply can't keep following the same patterns of behaviour or nothing will ever change. It does take real effort and a continued desire, daily, to keep this up. I applaud you Grim, Johnny, Claire and all others who make this choice to change. Gambling is just misery, it really is.
