Hi Weldy,
Just wanted to say congratulations on your success so far. Its lovely to hear someone feeling so positive, and I'm really glad for you.
Long may it continue 🙂
Weldy,
You ok?
Jas x
Hi Jas, thank you for checking on me and yes I am ok and thank you others for your comments too.
I have been very busy, with so much going on that I haven't had much time to get on and read, let alone post myself.
Rest assured I am mentally strong at the moment although I have to say I am feeling very tired because of everything going on. Never seem to get to bed early enough because of work, study, music & now decorating aswell!
Still, have a few days away in a fortnight's time and looking forward to that.
Catch you all later.
Weldy
Weldy,
Busy Bee you.....now don't go too mad. Remember to take some time for yourself.

PS My lounge needs decorating....any chance? 😉
Thinking of you - take it easy mister!

Good morning all,
I've just had a weekend full of music! My band played the boxmoor trust festival in Hemel Hempstead on saturday, over 10,000 people in attendance and it was fantastic to be playing there.
Then Sunday went to two gigs to see an up and coming band - The Red Bullets - locally in Bucks.
Work today doesn't seem to have the same appeal as being in the music business! But hey, the bills have to be paid.
My kids (who incidently are 12 & 15) were with me this weekend, and finally after 12 weeks, they spoke to me about the fact that their Dad wasn't glued to his laptop anymore and there wasn't any racing on the TV anymore!
It was a really special moment as they told me how I wasn't "grumpy" all the time anymore, that I was spending more time with them and so it has obviously started to filter through to the areas of my life that are most important to me.
On the financial side of things, I am starting to make progress having paid just over half of the Tax bill due on 1.8.09. So my initial goal of clearing this bill first is well under way, and my plan 2 to clear all debt by the end of the year can probably be achieved.
I could not have possibly have achieved this if I had continued to gamble so it's only down to Gamcare and my friends on here, my g/f and of course Myself that this has become achievable!
Well, another busy week ahead, culminating in two more gigs next weekend before a well deserved rest for a few days and a month off on the music front as we have no more gigs until a wedding at the end of August.
I wil be able to get on with my studies for a month instead!
All the best everyone.
Weldy
Cool sounds as if you are doing well. You must post where you band is playing in advance. I only live 4 miles from Hemel and could have made it this weekend. Though at this moment in time your entry prices need to be low for me!!! laugh out loud should be cry out loud actually!!!
That's a shame city - it was a free gig run by the Boxmoor Trust on a biannual basis. The next one is 2011!!! We are playing in Kingsbury Square, Aylesbury (free outdoor gig) this Sunday at about 3.30pm in the afternoon if you fancy it. We then break for hols until the end of August.
Weldy
Hi Weldy, im so glad to hear you are staying strong, its good fo people to post positive as well as the lows because i think it gives us still in the early stages of recovery hope.
stay strong weldy

Morning diary,
It's great to wake up in the morning now, without a thought about gambling. It's beginning to feel like something of a distant past when the last thing before I closed my eyes at night was how I planned to attack the next day's betting plan and also, first thing in the morning - how I planned to attack the day's betting plan.
I really don't miss being the human calculator I once was whereby I had figures in my head of what I needed to win back on a given day.
Like most CG's, I had a running total in my head of how much money I had lost over a given period of time (usually a few weeks at most) and then when the amount became too high to either calculate or to bear, miraculously the number was always zero again, and off I'd go again.
I now don't have these sums to do in my head, each day starts and ends in a zero.
I have now become so detatched from racing that I no longer know what meetings are on or what the next main event in the racing calender is taking place.
I still have a financial interest in my horse in training, but since the ground doesn't suit, the horse has not run yet this season and there are no immediate plans for any change in that situation. So it's given me lots of time to get used to the fact that if/when it does run, I won't be placing any bets on her.
Weldy
The hours and days are passing way too quickly!!!!
Love the fact that you won't be placing a bet on your own horse. That is so good.
Aylesbury 330 , when the wife gets home tonight I will mention it and most likely be there let you via ur diary.
Whats the name of the band again???
Cheers
