Hi Steve

Thanks for the posts on my diary m8.If your determination at the golf is as strong as your determination at stopping this dreadful gambling then i have no doubt that you will be hitting into the 80s at golf.I think i have got better at golf since i stopped gambling m8,but obviously i have more time to play.Keep up the good work kid.Jeff.

Evening Steve,

Thanks for the post mate. Yes LOST finale is indeed 2 and a half hours. I'll probably have to watch it twice to make any sense of it though!

I'll have to get cracking on the final series of 24 to fill the void!

Thank the lord for US tv drama!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your posts.

Ryan, I like Oasis and a bit of s*x Pistols so i'll have a go at those mate. I'll let you know how I get on. Currently on 'merrily we roll along', anarchist hey!!

Jeff, If I could just perfect my driving, chipping and putting I'd be an amazing player, however yesterday went and had a round at 'Normanby Hall' in Scunthorpe. It went really badly, I think I thought it was 'Normandy', I was certainly fighting on the beaches and every other possible terain you can think of except the fairways!! Went round in a shocking 115.

Seano, thanks for your continued support mate I really do appreciate it.

Curly, Tommi, I think the US dramas are fantastic, i've got to say my favourites have been Lost, Prison Break and Heroes. I've got the 1st series of 24 but have never started watching them, even though everyone I know keeps telling me to start. I think i'll start when Lost finishes. I've got to admit that I really enjoy CSi's as well. Great TV.

Well, yesterday was my birthday and although a terrible round, I really enjoyed the golf with my mate at a long course that I haven't played before. It felt a bit strange though, getting a birthday card from just my mum, I suppose it's just one more thing i'll have to get used to. Only one other blip on the day, a 300 quid bill from the solicitors, robbing gits.

Anyway, going out for tea tonight with a few from work, so hopefully I can let myself relax and enjoy that.

Stay Strong

Steve

Hi Steve,

Happy birthday mate. You do need to get started on 24. The first couple of series are brilliant. I'm going to get stuck in to the West Wing after LOST finishes.

Had to laugh at your round of golf. I played with a mate of mine last year and i always introduce him now as the course record holder at my club. 134 he shot. It was a long night! I still fancy you to break 90 before August is out. Keep working on that short game.

I read a book called 'Dream On' last year by a chap called John Richardson who went from shooting 100 to shooting a round under par in one year. Good book and quite inspirational. Shows what can be achieved if you put your mind to it. Worth a read if you can find a copy.

I'm going to Wentworth on Saturday to have a look how the big boys do it.

Enjoy your gamble free weekend Steve. You are doing great mate.

Hi All,

Thanks for your posts they mean a lot.

I'll try and get hold of that book Curly, sounds good, and i'm gonna have a go with 24 as well. I sometimes wonder at the moment how I ever had time to gamble in the past, it seems like i've got no free time, although i'm working a lot of overtime at the moment. I think more play less work is what the doctor ordered.

Things are looking a bit more positive on the final part of my divorce as well as my ex has finally replied to my solicitor and is gonna try and transfer me from the mortgage on Monday, won't be before time let me tell ya. Can't wait for it all to be over, i've aged dramatically in this last year lol.

Anyway, i'm working all weekend, so I hope everyone has a really nice time in the sun while i'm under the flouresent lights at work. Just great lol.

Stay Strong

Steve

Hey Steve,

As someone who also seems to find overtime filling those empty days I'm pretty sure were meant to be for relaxing...play is good. I tend to work until I feel like I can't stand the place, and then go off on holiday for a week. The burnout/fatigue of it is what gets me, if I do an earlier shift towards the end of a hard overtime stint, I'm likely to be on autopilot as I'm rubbish in the mornings.

In terms of aging though, once the pressure is lifted I'm sure you'll be reinvigorated and feel years younger! And if not, there's always botox. 😉 My one day off this week is tomorrow, so watch a bundle of football, then try not to be too hungover for work on Sunday for me!

All the best mate,

Ryan

Hi Steve, sorry that your having to work during this nice weather, still hopefully you'll catch a bit of it!!!,i'm pleased that your at last getting the last bits and bobs sorted out with your divorce,it will be a relief for you when it's completed.

I think Boothroyd will do ok for Cov,although the fans in general are reacting badly to his appointment, mainly because they think he is a "long" ball merchant....,the biggest problem most Cov fans have is a bit like us CG's they can't let go of the past, gone are the days when we can watch the likes of Robbie Keane and Gary Mac carressing a football for the Sky Blue's.

Seano.

Hi Guys,

Thanks Ryan and Seano for your posts, they mean a lot.

I've now gone 3 months without a gamble, and if you have read some of my posts in the past you will know that my biggest fear is complatency after a few months, this time i'm determined to turn months into years and I will not allow myself to turn my world upside down for the sake of feeding some stupid machine. No chance!!

I've just got to note that as a Lost fan i'm bursting with excitement (sad I know), of the final episodes showing early Monday morning. My prediction: Everyone dies on the island, but something happens in the parallel universe thingy, so that everyone ends up living.

Have a nice sunny Sunday all. Think of me while i'm working won't ya. lol.

Stay Strong

Steve

Congrats on the 3 months mate and I for one am confident that you will continue to beat this thing.

As for Lost--the only thing I know about that is that it refers to me during most of my 36 years of compulsive gambling.

All the best
