Nice to see you posting Steve, glad all is going well for you.Hope your Mam enjoys the day out,and you have a nice week off.Not a fan of Kevin Costner, however "Mr Brookes" is well worth watching......and on the subject of DeNiro,"Angel Heart" starring Mickey Rourke and DeNiro playing "Louis Cypher" is a great film,"Homeboy" is a really good Mickey Rourke film by the way,how he was out of work for 14 years always baffles me!!!.

Hi All,

Just got back from London. Really enjoyed it. Did the usual touristy things, tea with queen etc etc. Went to see Les Miserables on Sat night. It was fantastic. I'm not usually into Musicals but this was great. Lucie Jones (last years X-Factor) was in it and she was good, but the talent of these Actors/Actresses is unreal. They would walk some of these TV talent contests I reckon. If you've never been I would recommend it.

Anyway, got to be on my guard again now as i've got the rest of the week off and there are too many pre footy season bet offers flying about. Need to be careful not to get sucked in.

Stay Strong

Steve

Hi Steve,Very pleased to read that you and your Mum enjoyed London,i have been to a couple of shows myself in the past (under duress!!!) and actually enjoyed them!!!.Enjoy the rest of the week mate,i'm very confident that none of these offers will tempt you :).I think you will enjoy those films.By the way,i see Curly has done his top three De Niro films......,you just have to have Taxi Driver in the mix too!!!.....,have you ever watched "Mean Streets"?,DeNiro's first real film role, and the film that launched Scorsese's directing career.

Hi Steve,

Cheers for the post mate. Will try and keep the clubs nice and light for you!

Glad to see you enjoyed the weekend in London. I know that is exactly the type of thing i would never have the spare cash for when in the clutches of gambling. I went for a weekend in London myself earlier this year and caught Legally Blonde the musical. My boyfriend absolutely loved it!

I know what you mean about the acting. Top class these stage actors and they earn so little for it. It's a hard industry to get a break in i suspect.

Well done for treating your mum mate. Top man.

Hi All,

Had a decent day today. Got through loads of housework and avoided going to the bookies when I was a bit bored. Got a round of golf tomorrow morning and can't wait. Really need to get into a routine of playing regulary or i'm not going to get any better. Aiming for around the 100 mark.

Hey steve,

you can always tell when people are into their recovery because they actually start living again. Picking their hobbies and interests back up, and enjoying their time. Hope you manage to break the 100 (whatever that means!?)

Take care,

f x

Hi Guys,

Shot a 103 today in the pouring rain. Not bad by my standards, so I still feel like i'm making progress. Need to consistantly below 100 and then head for the Curly set target of 90 by the end of the year. Might prove harder to achieve that than to give up gambling. However, I have to say that i'm having a lot of thoughts at the moment of betting because of the new footy season coming around. Must try and resist though.

Off to the gym tomorrow, to start getting back in shape as the large fella staring back at me in the mirror at the moment looks a shadow of his former self, a very large shadow that is, eclipse style.

Stay Strong

Steve

Hi Steve,

Which season of 24 are you watching mate? I'm going to get stuck into the final season when i get back off holiday.

Well done on 103 in the rain. Always tough in the rain. Keep working toward that 90.

Good idea hitting the gym. I'll be doing that myself when i get back off holiday.

Ok mate i want your top 3 films of all time. Mine are:

1. Shawshank Redemption

2. The Usual Suspects

3. Being John Malkovich

You?

Ta for the post Curly,

Season 1 would you believe. Is there 9 seasons in total? Long way to go I reckon.

Ok, here it goes, top 3 films of all time:

1/ Goodfellas

2/ Star Wars

3/ White Men Can't Jump

That was far too hard mate, you could have at least broken it down into genres for me lol. All the films you ranked are top notch as well.

White Men Can't Jump is a good shout mate. Not sure it would make many top 3 lists but it sure is enjoyable. Might get that one onto the ipod for the plane to Cyrpus!

I think there are 8 seasons of 24. Season 1 is a cracker in which Kim Bauer is looking mighty d**n fine. I think you will get hooked on both 24 and Kim quite quickly!

Cheers for the post Steve. I'm sorry that your on your own at the moment. It shows what gambling can do....its not just the losing of the money. Get down that gym big guy and lose some of those pounds. It may help you golf swing, having said that David Duval went on a massive fitness drive and look where that got him! World golf champs tonight, I'll be all over that. As for the toffees, we just keep on marching on. Curly and I will be celebrating come the end of the season!!!
