Hi Steve,

Thanks for the post on my diary. Its nice to see someone in a similar position to me get away from gambling for so long and start to reduce the debts. Its given me more determination to get rid of this debt!

Keep up the good work mate

Jimmy

Thanks for taking the time to post on my diary. Always appreciated.

Regarding the football season. Is it possible for you to watch football games and enjoy the play? I always think that having money on outcomes, or players to score first etc would spoil my enjoyment of the game. I used to watch with my Dad, who played and later was a referee. He was such an unbiased fan of football and could always appreciate the play of both sides. That seems to have rubbed of on me. I love the game and it is a good sport to enjoy - without a bet!

All the best to you - keep strong and send those daft urges packing!

love,

Lili x

Hey mate,

I suspect that most of us who are football fans on this forum are getting sweaty palms at the moment, start of a new season is just a tough time with all the temptations of mass advertising from the betting companies and the routine of a build up to the season.

I've started going down the driving range with a few mates, but quite frankly even getting the ball to go 100 yards of the tee is difficult! I've tried using a 5 wood, but that just seems to be designed for getting lots of height or very low shots. And I don't get to choose which.

Don't worry about the fantasy football mate, I'm doing it as well, and I'm not counting it as breaking my gambling duck.

All the best

Ryan

Hi All,

Thanks for the posts, appreciated as usual.

I have managed to abstain from some very big urges over the last couple of days and didn't place any sort of bet on the footy or anything else. I enjoyed seeing my beloved Donny getting off to a good start as well. I really think that we could have an outside sniff of the play-offs this year. Donny in the prem next year??? That's what I love about footy, we can all dream of the big time!!

Stay Strong

Steve

Hi Steve, glad you managed resist those urges,.....you know it makes sense!!!.good result for your team as well yesterday, always nice to get 3 points in the bag.Yes,i have read about Hatton and Khan possibly meeting,i don't rate Khan so i would expect a way past his best Hatton to prevail.Khan has a glass chin, and as soon as he gets pegged he goes into panic mode.Have you got/watched Homeboy yet?.stay strong.

Hi Steve,

glad you are resisting those urges. Do you know why you were getting pretty big ones, or are they just totally random?

Hope they die down.

Take care,

f x

The mighty Donny in the premiership! Blackpool did it so why not Donny? Keep giving gambling a spiral kick into touch. Russ

Hi All,

Thanks for all your support and advice as usual.

I'm glad to say that all those strong urges have subsided some what, and I haven't been too bad over the last few days. Went for a round of golf today and went round in 107. Quite a hard course though and first time i'd played it so it wasn't so bad. Enjoyed getting out in fresh air anyway.

Gonna catch up on a few diaries now.

Stay Strong

Steve

Steve, 107. Remind me again the target that curly set you? It was pretty breezy today so conditions were pretty tough! I reckon you will breaking that 100 soon. Keep going fella. Russ

its funny when you stop gambling, and the dust settles you suddenly remember 'oh yeah, I used to have interests and stuff'.

Thanks for your support on my diary, I am having exciting times 😀

Take care,

Thanks Russ And Freda,

What a long week. After my nice relaxing round of golf on Tuesday came a crazy week of work. Everyone seemed to be phoning in sick!! Anyway, am enjoying a nice relaxing day today, without the gambling thoughts polluting my brain.

Hey Steve,

The football season is back, and now that the majority of the first weekend is out of the way, I'm glad it is. Chelsea looked good, Liverpool and Arsenal didn't impress me too much, neither did Man City to be honest.

As for my mighty Hammers, my hopes of Blackpool being one of the teams worse than us may need to be reconsidered!

I know what you mean about work, ours seems to be at full stretch this time of the year with holidays and sick days piling up, however, it does mean there's plenty of overtime for those like me!

Cheers

Ryan
