Hi all

Not been in for a wile, but thought I would let you all know how I am doing. The last year has flown by, and its that time of year again when I get my year end bonus from work in 2011, this was in my mind the time I was going to be virtully debt free, but wor have decidied to cap our bonus, this has resulted in me getting approx 9,000 less then I should. This means I will still be in debt until August/September time, but the good part is I still have not gambled.

At the start of me stoping my biggest focus was on being debt free, I am sooo close to it now, it actually is getting me down and it feels like the months are taking so long to pass. I will stay focused and I will be debt free, when that day comes, this will be when life begins again.

Just took 10 mins to read some peoples entries, I still remember well that feeling of not being able to control the urges so much. Its this that keeps me focused on not gambling, my only advise is to say it gets easier every day guys, so just keep going

All my mates have gone to cheltenham today, and for a split second this morning I found myself wanting to go, then i just said dont be silly!!! I am now so close to being debt free its unreal, I am hopefull by the end of this year it will be all gone, amazing what 2 years of not gambling can do, i hate to say it but imagine the life I would be living if I had never gambled.......

I am proof you can stop gambling, so beleive in yourself and you will succeed

I today got paid my annual bonus, which was a lot les then I should have got (my company stitched me up bbig time) However it was enough to pay off my last loan, and some of my credit cards, so it feels great !! Just have 4 more credit cards to pay off, about 8k then debt free. AT my lowest point I owed the best part of 50,000 pounds, it is amazing how quickly it has been paid off, just a shame I still owe 8,000 pounds, which strangly enough really annoys me. When I was 50k in debt i didnt care, but now it really annoys me, but soon enough it will be gone if i stay focused.

I was just looking through my online bank account and I thought I would share what stae my account was in, as you can see I was over 3k overdrawn and blew £850 in a day just before Xmas!!! This was not a one off, this was a daily happening, so glad I am not doing this anymore

Ha ha Dave, certainly rings a bell with me although the deposits got bigger as my chasing losses grew. On my last gambling binge when using my partners card the deposits would be rejected for some reason after a couple of hundred thank god. Meant me sitting by the phone the next day waiting for the automated security call...not good times.

Sorry not been in for a while, but just not needed to come in. I have now managed to pay off the last of my credit cards, so now I only have a small loan left with my wife which was for a car (stil have the car, and its worth more then the loan) so as far as I am cncerned I am now out of debt!!!!!!!

I have no thoughts of gambling at all, and I hope that remains for ever

Great News Dave. Please don't ever get yourself into debt again through gambling. As you have now cleared all gambling debt, don't let the demons come back in. Think of how much you will have saved this time next year just by not gambling. Could amount to a pretty good holiday!!!

Just popping in to say hi, still G free and happy in life. i have even started saving money, can you believe that!!

1 year 141 days clean

HI all just thought i would pop in and check up on everyone, some mixed storys out there.

Just to report I am 1 year and 141 days clean, but i still keep my gaurd up at all times!!!!

I also went on experian today to check my credit score, I always used to be abbout 250 ish, but I am now 970, which = excellent. I am living proof you can do it guys, I was a horrible gambler, I did not even enjoy winning or losing, it just filled my days. I could lose 3 -4 grand in a day and not worry about it, how stupid is that?? ALl i can say is it is nice to have a little money now, and no stress!!!!

Hi all long time no speak on here. Just thought I would pop in to read a few storys and post that I am still clean. Amazing change in my life, i have money in the bank and a very happy relationship with my wife. If i had carried on I would have lost everything for sure, read back through my diary and u will see how much of a dark place I was in.

I am living proof you do not need to waste any money on gambling, PLEASE STOP LIFE IS SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER
