Morning,

Thanks for "popping" by. You are going from strength to strength 🙂 which is really uplifting to read. What's this I see about 4th gym session of the week? Just shows how things can turn around in a huge way when we stop gambling.

Over halfway through the year and those days just keep mounting, it's lovely to see how popular you have become on the site and your commitment remains as high as it was on day 1. Definitely someone people can look up to on this site :).

Hope the sun is shining for you too!

Flagg x

Day 244

In stark contrast to the past few days, I've been a lazy wee wumman today!! Just been relaxing in the sunshine- its even too warm for Paddy to have a long walk.

July is an expensive month for me- several birthdays looming. I did do some gift shopping earlier- thank goodness for sale rails 🙂

Usually, the July birthday gifts are bought using credit cards- a new phenomenon to be buying with cash lol.

Son's gf is hosting a ladies' evening at their home- I'm looking forward to meeting more of her family/friends. I plan to drive- can't be having a tiddly mother showing them up!!

Feeling a bit sad- I've mentioned before that I'm worried about pal's gambling. She had managed several weeks without- and yesterday spent £500 in one session. I used to do that (and more!) yet now, I find myself a bit shocked at the waste- it seems hypocritical. while I was in the middle of the madness I'd lost all sense of monetary value. The sad part is that she now has the aftermath of a binge and feels horrible- yet is still wondering how she can win it back. I love her and hope she doesn't try.......she helped me so much early on and remembers the difficulty I had with accepting the losses- I hope that I can reciprocate.

Unsure what I'll do now- too hot for anything energetic!!!

Hey Irene

I think it's natural to have thoughts about behaviours that we see in others but have done ourselves but in a way it shows how far you have come and your clarity of thought as now your life is "normal " if that's the word...

It is more frustrating when it's friends as often we think we have more clout and a deeper understanding but I would say hand on heart the most conflict I have in my life are with the folks I'm closest to!!! Lol

All you can do is be a living example of someone who is now living a calmer more stable life with non shocks and self loathing ...

As they say..actions speak louder than words xx

You're doing fab ..R and D xx

Hi Irene have a lovely time at your son's home, mine had a bbq for his birthday last week but they ended up watching the tennis final most of the time while I played with the littlies.

It's too darn hot for me at the moment in my green house on the river, thinking I may have to dive in today.

Take care and thanks for support, know just what you mean about being aghast at others spending vast amounts when we did just the same, strange how our minds work.

xxx

Day 247

Uneventful. Feel bad that Im not visiting many diaries over last few days-works been draining recently and I need to switch off.

Finding it an effort to post anything, however recognise that I need to, to maintain my gamble free status.

Hey Irene,

hope the gardening went well and the gym workouts are still going strong. Don't worry about not posting too much, sometimes you need say nothing, and others you feel like you say too much, but importantly don't feel like you have to say something.

have a great day and catch up soon

Phil
