Since debt is a common theme between addicts and from my own personal experience i had to use Money Supermarket forum and other platforms and i have seen alot of people who have previously used this site are finding support from other places which shouldnt be the case budgeting is a tough one and i have realised even non addicts can struggle with this for most people debt is a huge trigger and why alot of relapses happen because u have to make some adjustment towards your life style unless u was already happy living the bare minium this itself is always going to be trigger and this is another reason why an addict could potentially relapse so budgeting could make life that little bit easier for alot of people

Thank you for sharing your experience and insight into this, Taz. Gambling creates unique challenges for managing finances, and like you, many of our service users have needed support to get back on track and regain control of their finances.

Our Money Guidance Service has created a toolkit with lots of practical information and advice on managing finances, and also offers one-to-one budgeting and financial support. You can find the toolkit and more about our Money Guidance service here, https://www.gamcare.org.uk/self-help/managing-your-money/

Take care,

Nic
