I have only been a member on here since 2022 and i have noticed since u can document everything on here and alot of my issue related to gambling harms come from alot of older posts their are many others similar issue i had which were never documented at my Ga i have noticed alot of those posts resonate with what i felt and over time u can clearly see the progress being made some are very emotional with alot of hardships i was never told about this site i have noticed since that last couple of years it more about online addiction then bookies arcades rarely see any posts relating to the fobt had i have known about this website am pretty certain i would have used it then the 1 Ga meeting i was attending a week the only good thing with the meeting most had similar addictions as me however none of the issues were talked about and it was the only meeting in my area at the time their was rarely any youtubers so i wasent spending any time since coming on here i have found many posts and i can relate to my own struggles my Ga only focused on certain aspects and none of the stuff which helped i honestly believe had i come on here instead my perception would have changed alot sooner has my views had already changed nobody mentioned anything it was Ga or nothing it was the only way i even learnt recently Ga all work differently some are better then others i feel like i have been let downÂ

I'm sorry you feel that way about GA but as you say each room if different. I agree that GA isn't a one stop approach for me and I've needed more than just going to a meeting once per week. Gamcare is amazing and a 24 hour resourceÂ
The issue i had their were few great people however like gamcare the chatrooms are run daily along with stuff like diarty for certain people Ga works if u are outspoken like their was a guy came into recovery at 21 and was bet free for 6 years he was outspoken and regularly chaired i just didnt fit in another guy was 30+ years bet free who never chaired or anything but because he was longest bet free he was given special privlidges i was asked a couple time to present these meetings and i just couldnt get myself to do all this and after going to Ga on and off since 2010 one of the girls mentioned about gamcare to use this forum she mentioned it not great as the Ga meetings as i couldnt attend due to family issues and funny enough it turned the best thing since slice bread lol i been once back and few of the guys who i got on with have accepted if this works then it fine few other people i didnt get on with were not interested its Ga or nothing that the mentality some people have i realised just because someond bet free doesnt make them a better person it just makes u normal nothing to be proud about their only a handful of people i respected their the guy with the 30+ years said to me he doesnt even know if he better now surely it not going make other issues go away it just means your not resorting to gambling u still have to deal with lifeÂ
