If a person has an historical short-term addiction to one form of gambling (in this case slot machines), are they able to bet responsibly with another form, such as horse racing?

Tough question, can they? Yeah possibly short term but long term I would think the addiction would probably shift.... My addiction was online and horses, I could still kinda enjoy bets on football and was using free spins etc with no issues, but then when you look overall at what you've won / played with even if it's "free" you soon realise it's getting more and more and worse. It's a very slippery slope unfortunately

All the best

This is a particularly a tough question but with a simple answer is that any form of gain from wagering money is gambling. Be it a raffle, lottery, football bets premium bonds... I could go as far and say that your pension is a gamble but managed by professionals with risk limits.

If I buy 100 dollars expecting to get more pounds when I exchange them a month later then that's gambling too. Also trading is gambling the higher the leverage the worse it gets.

just for today I will not gamble and wonder how many olives would fit in my car boot.
