My partner of 8 years is a compulsive gambler. Hes previously had a drugs problem too. He is ruining my life ive split with him more times than i can count. I moved myself and our 2 young children out of the family home and into our own house but then let him move in. I put him out again after finding out he had been stealing money out my work he claims it was borrowing. He basically told his family i had lost the plot as i had post natal depression and panic attacks. I still have anxiety problems. He move back in feb after promises that things had changed i put him back out in may again after countless lies etc. He had a load of payday loans which he had denyed to me. His family paid them off and did up his house which had had a tennant in before. He lived there for 1 day and blew 1200 of his familys money. I let him stay for a few days as i didnt want him out on the street. That was 7 weeks ago. We have been arguing fotr the past 3 weeks. Moneys been going missing hes started a dream team, ive found a few coupons and hes again left my boys in the car whilst he went to bookies and told them to lie about it. He says its my moods that have caused our relatuonship problems. I dont think i actually like him anymore never mind love him. His family want nothing more to do with it and i feel totally stuck with him. Hes such a good dad too when hes behaving but then he does such irresponsible things. I feel so betrayed by him. What do i do now?
You need to give him an ultimatum get help or you leave him for good. Its as simple as that. I lost home girlfriend and kids through gambling. I totally understand why the ex said it was over she could not take it anymore. She said it wasn't the money it was all the lies I told.
Affected by gambling?
