Hi everyone,
Welcome to the Forum’s weekly topic!
We have heard your feedback, so we will be posting a new topic thread every week to give you the chance to reflect on your journey so far. We will be including content around topics such as gambling harms research, news articles, reflections from GamCare staff, and more.
This week’s topic is Time
“Time” is discussed as a part of many journeys; we are often considering where we are spending our time and how much time we are spending in different ways. We can also live feeling as if we have no time at all, or maybe nothing but time!
Interestingly, Psychology Today have an article on “Why time is an illusion”. You can see here: https://www.psychologytoday.com/intl/articles/202004/why-time-is-illusion
This article discusses how our perception of time changes. “Research makes clear that, in our minds, perceived time flies when we have happy experiences, slows down when things are dull, and nearly halts in times of danger or extreme stress—one reason we remember such moments so vividly”. Do you agree?
How fast is time passing for you, at the moment?
How do you manage your time?
Are there ways you would like to manage your time differently?
We would love to hear your reflections below.
Note: We run a chatroom on Mondays at 6pm, with the theme of “time”. We would love to see you there!
All the best,
Lulu
