Hi,
My husband is a CG, different relationship, same problem. It's becoming ever more prevalent.
Your son has a very good friend who's trying to help him in the right way - it must have taken some guts to make that call.
HL is right that the mess is for your son to ultimately fix. It's instinctive but not helpful to bail him out and he needs a different form of support. If he's willing to accept the problem, the helpline and meetings are the way forward, with barriers. Blocking software, self exclusion, help with managing his finances.
Call the helpline for support for you, also try GamAnon meetings and read round the forum so you know what to expect.
Hope this helps.
