Hi WillyWonka,
The problem is we always return and the shisters know it only too well. Hence the latest ploy of the same relatively few casinos opening up new ones every week. To combat the thousands of CGs like us who keep self excluding and promising to never come back.
My tips. Assuming your.bag is online gambling, get yourself over to GAMSTOP now and register for the max 5 years. Let go of the losses. Forget about trying to make money in casinos and work hard on accepting that you will never gamble again. If that sounds extreme, well maybe but many many years of trying everything has finally taught me that the only way is to accept I will never gamble again. It’s tough but it’s not impossible.
Do it now while you are still young. Stop giving them any more money. Stop going for the big win when at the same time you are fully aware that all a big win does is fuel further gambling and heavier losses.
You’re right right, it is crooked. One day it the future I am absolutely convinced it will all come out that this ‘random spins’ nonsense is just that, nonsense. The programming is clearly intuitive, we’ve all seen the patterns. Nobody will ever convince me that we imagine the patterns, they are there.
Good luck!
Completely agree. Do everything you possibly can to stop now and never start again. I fell in love with slot machines when I was 7 and now I'm 64 and hundreds of thousand of wasted pounds later I am determined to stop. I don't want to die still a stupid gambler. I don't know if your family know how much you gamble but you should tell them, no matter how embarrassing it is, don't hide it. Now that you can sit at home in your comfy chair with a laptop, carefully positioned so that no-one else can see what you are doing, it makes it even easier to waste your time and money. If you don't confront this problem now you too could one day be 64 and having to admit what a fool you have been for so many years.

Hi Willywonka,
My advice would be to focus any energy you are spending trying to 'take on' the casino's on your recovery instead.
I am a firm believer that roulette isn't rigged (it doesn't need to be as there's a house edge and they wouldn't risk their UKGC licence). Even if it was, unless you have the resources for a s**t hot legal team, I don't really fancy your chances.
Spend time excluding from sites, installing blocking software and getting help to deal with your underlying issues.
Wishing you all the best.
Phil
Hi Willywonka999 and welcome to the forum.
You are in the right place to start your recovery. You have poured a lot out there and you will be very upset or confused in these early stages.
Deep breaths because this is about a born again moment and a new relationship with yourself. One of the best pieces of advice I can give you is to seek some serenity with a reality check. We are not all going to be rich and its actually not all about money unless you let money and jealousy rule your life.
Life isnt fair and people who have never lifted a finger are born into wealth. Gambling is not the answer as you have seen. Once addicted a compulsive gambler gambles for the feeling of playing......... 4 grand or 50 million.....its all been lost by gambling it away
You will learn a lot about this addiction. Its complex and related to issues deep within your soul. A lot of your anger and frustration is misdirected at the moment which is understandable. Of couse the gambling dens get your money and they get it fast. The odds are against you and there is NO system on roulette. Gambling is not an income scheme or a get it back later scheme.
You need to take a deep breath and start with the basics...its a mind control illness once you have been hooked. the money becomes secondary once we lose control. Its very similar to a drug addiction craving the rush and the dopamine. Its a complex soup of addiction and escape from reality. We think we have some control but we dont until a full recovery starts.
Its not just about wanting grands...that plays a part in the addiction process but we cant stop because we dont want to and dont know how to. Even if money came my way I wanted more and the truth is I just wanted to play more for the gambling feelings
We advise a born again moment where you keep no secrets and tell people close that you trust.
The tips are you learn to love yourself and what you have in your pocket. You learn to love the simple things in life because its a rat race and chasing money makes many people miserable. You need to focus on a fresh start....more of a what would you pay for life saving water in the desert and learn to appreciate what you have. Money is relative and we dont need most of the tat out there but you would give everything for that drink of water.
Make no mistake though...you need all the help like we all did. You can not do this with willpower alone. Living on an allowance and handing control of your finances over is strongly recommended. Take a new pride in blocking from all the gambling dens. Tell them who you are with pride and you want nothing more to do with them....what has it already done to you...you dont need it in your life!
Best wishes from everyone on the forum
Brilliant post above. This site has helped me so much. Welcome to the group

Your post is a bit difficult to read but marks some interesting points
Online gaming is without a doubt in my mind rigged to give the operator as much of an edge as they possibly can im also fully aware most operators constantly monitor your username and your account
That’s where all the “special offers” come from
Online gaming has never done it for me if anything ive found it too rigged to give an accurate experience you never know where you are with it and most games even blackjack and roulette feel like your playing a fruit machine where the game always decides if you win or not
Its never held an appeal to me ……. Strangely, though ive noticed real casinos are up to something as well
The amount of times ive seen 2 different wheels spin exactly the same number almost like they are in-sync is unbelievable ……also double and triple spins w*f
the odds of a number hitting 2 or 3 times in a row exceeds well over 500 thousand to 1 yet I used to see it 5 or 6 times in a night too much of a coincidence for me
Casinos are big trouble both physically and virtually, if you enter one you better be prepared to lose at least £200 and not complain about it
a concept that’s taken me a long time to ***
you also mention the strange comedown associated with gambling ……. I was trying to explain this to my girlfriend
the best I could come up with is
lack of appeitite
lack of focus on real world
Aching back from leaning over tables/machines/computer
Very easily irritated
Tiredness / fatigue
It’s not entirely different to a narcotic come down but there is defenitley something unique about it …id find myself uninterested in anything for a few weeks after a big session
There are other more stable ways to make money in this world

I have high hopes for your recovery WW but do spend some time thinking about the "entertainment" angle. Was it ever really fun because once we crossed the line it becomes more of a cold sweat intensity?
Ive seen the poker looking faces of people on roulette at at all night casino and "entertainment" wasnt the first thing that crossed my mind...more of a grim chasing determination as they carefully eyed up the other punters...I feel its more of an isolating activity than love thy neighbour
The hook works very much like a drug addiction and is now in the same chapter. It is a love hate relationship but its more complex than that in some people are playing to escape and punish themselves for feelings of low self esteem or a rubbish job/social life.
Youve seen class A and alcohol addicts and wonder how they are having any real fun...well its the same for a gambling addict when a non gambler sees them and knows the truth
A problem gambler has no control over minimising losses and I would argue that anyone that chucks money away gambling has a problem. it becomes hard to tell when the addiction first set in but it gets into the brain so we start thinking we are just going to win a bit whenever we decide to play.
A gambler must be prepared to lose and we are often wired in a natural way that nobody really likes losing. Once addicted its not really about being silly of greedy in the same way an alcoholic falls into a drunken stupor and all control has gone...a gambler may seem alert but control has gone.
The casino knows the mathematics which is why they open for business. They take 10% to 23% on every fruit machine per year no matter what happens so thats all worked out...that is an income scheme. They know the edge on roulette and blackjack and they will refuse bets to suit themselves.
Please keep reading the forum and develop your knowledge that its a love hate relationship (putting it simply) with completely ruins people.
Take it easy
Best wishes from everyone on the forum
