You're here because gambling has caused you a problem at some point yet you don't seem ready to give up. That's fine, you'll hit your rock bottom and think 'I should have stopped'.

As a compulsive gambler it is NOT possible to play with small amounts/small bets (basically try to control your gambling). Believe me I've tried. A hundred times... Yet I still got to level's of losing £10,000 in a few hours after starting with £20 a spin. This came off the back off a week where I was 'controlling' my gambling. Basically I wasn't controlled at all. I fooled myself into that false state of security going in and walking out £20-40 up several times. As soon as I lost, the compulsion set in.

Casino's are not rigged, stop fooling yourself... If that's what you believe, your an even bigger fool for continuing to play !

Harsh words, maybe. I don't expect you to listen, but maybe somebody else will.

Best regards,

Scambling

I hope it starts to dawn on you WW that recovery and abstention is the only way. You are doing what we all did by thinking of it at some level as an income scheme. Once we get hooked it acts like a drug addiction even though part of our brains is thinking some crazy idea that we are calmly going to turn £20 into £50 for example( pick your amount because its the same addiction at whatever monetary level)

It isnt in any reliable sense or everybody would give up their jobs tomorrow. Yes money sometimes comes our way but once hooked its almost meaningless as it goes back in again and it was never enough anyway...never enough compared with the fix of playing....the draw is the feeling of playing

You had your earned wages in your pocket and now some gambling den has it. You need to focus on that was good money in your pocket but you have an ill reletionship with gambling and money...It becomes far deeper in that we develop an ill relationship with life itself because addiction is an illness

Walking out one time is not a sign of control...I thought that but the next time you could and will lose everything

You have to stop gambling and unfortunately its such a strong addiction that many people are not yet ready for the advice. It took me 10 months so I understand how confused an addicted gambing mind is. I would say that anybody that tries gambling doesnt really understand or face up to the odds...yes some quickly stop but for us it became far more dangerous than that. We dont need it and cant have it in our lives

Best wishes from everyone on the forum

im not sure if you think gambling is some type of income stream it isn't ........and certaintly isn't when dealing with FOBT's & casinos online or otherwise

if you are relying on gambling to supplement your income your going to be in big trouble because you think even less rationally

get a second job or something if you are struggling that much

I've deleted the posts above. The only way to beat it is to not even think about it . This site helps bookmakers I'm sure of it. The majority of people here may be having a hard time but I'm literally skint I'm even going to quit smoking as I havnt a job or anything . The workers on this site communicate with other people . End of story. Thank you for any comments above.

I'm great. Getting on with my remains of a life . The industry is all good and don't want problem gamblers around to cause a ruckus.
I understand why and how I got I to this place. And I'm sure I'll flutter once in awhile and I have done to see the feeling, even with sniggers from behind the counter .... they should probs get rid of those machines though as and for the country ... But then I should stick to being alot more considerate, ha , if your stuck in it all, the way to stop or chill out is forget losses and only spend what you can easily afford. Oh and don't use it as an escape of loneliness or the sense of achievement or tell people who are sly as!! :)))))))
