Well here I am on gamcare, for years going into bookies and online I always seen the gamcare flyers or logos and thought to myself that'll never be me! But here I am!
Started gambling 10 years ago, started as everybody else did few quid then up it and up it, won a good few grand about 4 years ago and it is possibly the worst thing that could of happened! Lost the lot within a week wanting more and more!! The greed is unbelievable!!
This week I was 850 up! I had started off with 25 and worked it up to 850 I was loving it the buzz was good, but then I wanted to double it so I couldn't sleep knowing I had 850 in my account!! So I started backing horses in America I knew nothing about the horse I was backing I just backed it! This continued till every penny had gone in my account! The feeling after that will stay with me for a long time! I felt sick still do now talking about it!
I have a lovely girlfriend and 2 kids they don't deserve this!!! She knows nothing about it I try my best to hide my gambling I don't know why but I'm embarrassed to say anything!!
So today is the day I quit!! I've quit all my online accounts and intended to take up spending more time with my family!!
Can't believe the date is Friday the 13th aswell at least when I look back in many years to come I can say I quit on friday the 13th!!!

hi there ive been gambling for about 20 years and coundn't tell how much ive lost. but in the last week i have lost another couple of grand and now have had enough sick and tried of the ups and downs (more downs) have give up once for 5 years it was great i was a happy person everyday but done a harmless football coupon only a tenner and back i was so what im trying to say is im going to try again with all your help. i want to be happy again and not just for that 20 seconds when i win but forever so fingers crossed this is day one cheers
