I lasted 24 hours before I cracked and signed up to a new website. This is just pathetic. I have put cooling off periods on so many accounts but I realise now this is not enough as I search through until I find one that has reset so I can play
If you try hard enough there's always away around the blocks, I shut down one account then emailed them and they re-opined it for me! Try transferring your money into someone who you trusts bank account or destroy your bank card, order a new one and have someone scratch off the last 3 digits for you. I find not having access to money works much better then blocks. Keep trying untill you find the best way for you to beat it, it's hard but with the right support I'm sure you'll do it, good luck!!

Sorry to hear that you have fallen off the wagon but really who here hasn't done that?
The main thing is that you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and try again.
Few tips to help eliminate the temptation to gamble:
When you feel tempted to gamble do a quick Google image search of 'gambling addiction' always works to put things in perspective.
Download and install a gambling blocker. Gamban is great and it's only £10 for a whole year!
Take all of your money out of your savings and either get a trusted friend or relative to ration it to you for things you need or put it into a post office account which requires you to go to draw it out.

Thanks all. I have managed to stay off the sites for the rest of the day and even set a cooling off on my favourite site (which already had strict deposit limits). Really going to try and do this. I will look at doing a journal x
Cooling off isn't enough.
If you really want to give yourself a chance to stop this self exclusion is a minimum place to start. Block your access to any accounts you have for the maximum time.
We all hate the losing side of compuslive gambling but this isn't always enough to make people want to stop. You have to want to give this up for ever. Like the rest of us you cannot gambling responsibily so you must do everything you can to quit this now.
You need to find a way to safeguard the money you have available to you. If you can give your cards over to someone do that. Get blocking software on your devices.
You must be tough with this addiction if you want to stop. Its a hard one to beat at the best of times (as you have found out already) you have to have all the blocks in place you possibly can get!
