Hi all,
I have been a problem gambler for years and it has affected relationships, family, friendships, work, mental health and finances like it has a lot of people with this problem.
Â
I have tried quitting by myself numerous times, with help from family, friends etc.. but I’m always 1 bad night away from ruining it all… a couple of weeks ago I reached out to Gordon Moody and I have been accepted onto their residential program, I believe I will be going to their Dudley residential at the end of January.
Â
Has anybody been through there program? I’m wondering what to expect and how to make the most of it so that I can finally beat this.
Â
thanks for any responses 🙂
Mike
Hello Mikec89
Welcome to the Forum, it is good to have you here to share your experience, strength and hope with others.
I am so pleased that you have a place at Gordon Moody and can understand you wanting to know what to expect and to get as much out of the experience that you possible can. I am sure that you will soon settle and will be given an Introduction to their Program.
The best advise for you is to keep an open-mind, be willing to listen and to put some action into your Recovery. Also to make sure that you have on going support when you leave Gordon Moody.
In the meantime, if you wish to speak with an Adviser we are here for you 24/7. You can make contact free on 0808 8020 133.
Please keep posting on the Forum and connecting with others in Recovery.
All the very best to you

I am going to their residential retreat in early January and March. It’s 4 days residential with weekly group Zoom sessions which start next week and then a 3 day retreat in March. Mine is the women’s group in Bristol. I’m being supported by weekly 1-2-1 counselling which started about 6 weeks ago. I will let you know how the retreat goes but I have heard positive feedback about it.
go to a free GA meeting if you get the chance 👍
