Hi, im 39 been gamberling for about 16 years but these past five years ive been losing money which is meant for my bills and food. My partner gambles also and we never have any money to enjoy life, i havent told my parents or my 18 year old daughter the extent of my problem. The final straw was i have just been paid today and lost every penny, now ive put pressure on myself as i dont hve any money to pay my bills, get food or go to the rugby match this evening, im suffering with really bad depression too, any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi Lisat39

The biggest favour both you and your partner could do for each other and your daughter is to get along to your nearest GA meeting or a counsellor. They will be able to help and support you.

Easy access to money is a gamblers worst nightmare. Try to minimise your access as much as possible.

I gather from your post that you haven't got any debts due to your gambling? Either way, treat this as the first day of the rest of your life and stop now. If you read some of the stories on these forums you will see where this addiction can take you.

Best wishes
