Football betting is the biggest con of all time

10 years ago I was the biggest advocate of football betting you could find 

I loved the research and the thrill of watching my selections come in during the games

For a few years I was fairly profitable and did enjoy it 

Then shortly after covid everything changed it seemed overnight new competitions were dreamt up which meant even more fixtures in already congested schedules

Suddenly teams around Europe were playing virtually 7 days a week 

Games started feeling like they were being played at a much slower tempo and almost as if they were scripted for 90 mins , teams started becoming very unpredictable and unreliable

By 2023 I had more or less completely lost interest in both football and betting on football

Sometimes I would place some bets to try my luck but again the games were so boring now it was like watching paint dry

In 2025 I'll stick the odd game on like tonight the "nations leauge" had some interesting international match ups so I thought I'll try my luck

Shoved £80 on a double and put the matches on the TV

Sure enough the standard of the football in the games is awful again, teams aimlessly booting the ball around like their in a school yard

By half time I had to turn it off and chucked the bet in the bin

I don't know what has happened to the "beautiful game" but something feels very very wrong with it these days 

it genuinely wouldn't surprise me if the bookies are chucking large bribes around for matches to play out a certain way

Because in all honesty some of the movements and decisions these players are making are not logical 

I think tonight was the final straw I don't think I have the stomach to ever watch another game of football ever again
