gambling addiction advice needed

hi guys

This is my first post about my gambling addiction, every payday i go to the arcade and 9/10 times waste my wages.

its affecting me and my family now and things have to change but i really dont know where to start. Something has to change i am fed up with struggling and not having money its so depressing

I always think this is the time i will win and recover some of my loses but it never happens

Any help and advice will be amazing

Hi Ash - this is the best decision you have made to come here! Clearly you are like me can’t stop and therefore can’t win!! So you need to stop and put as many blocks as you can - self exclusion from the arcades / bookies / casinos and gam block your phone / computer so you can’t gamble even if you feel the urge. I think reading the Allan Carr book might also help this tries to get you to think you can’t win so stop using gambling as a comfort blanket. Most of all stop taking cash/cards with you so you can’t lose! Start today and never give them another penny! Stay gf

Hi Ash, welcome to the forum! I started reading this site a few months back, all the while wasting money mistakingly thinking I was in control! My advice is to get started straight away, gamstop - self exclude from those sites / places you use and start a diary tracking gamble free days. Really wish I had started sooner...
