Hi All
First time poster, 27 year old lad who really wants to conquer his gambling addiction, its ruined a lot of my life for too long and I just want to enjoy the finer things in life again, I am based in Warwickshire, if any of you guys are local and know places/people who can help that would be great but any advice/tips from anyone would be greatly appreciated to be honest. I would estimate I have lost around 200k in 10 years of gambling, whether on sports or slots. How do I even begin to stop?
Many Thanks

Hi wal3590,
Welcome to the Forum!
There is a lot you can do to get started on your journey to recovery. You can make sure that you do not have money available to gamble with by giving your money to someone else. Self-exclusion is available from betting shops, arcades and casinos and you can block yourself from online gambling.
Maybe you would like to contact us on the HelpLine on 0808 80 20 133 or on the Netline http://www.gamcare.org.uk/support-and-counselling/frontline-services/netline in order to talk this through with an adviser in person. Both services are open from 8 am to midnight every day.
For local support in Warwickshire, you can check the Gamblers Anonymous website for meetings near you https://www.gamblersanonymous.org.uk/
There may be counselling options for you, too and one of our HelpLine or NetLine advisers can make a referral for you.
You do not have to do this alone. There is much support for you.
Kind wishes
Gabriele
