hi just come back after 5 years still gambling want to stop

Its really hard when theres no blocks in place, I joined gamstop and it takes away an temptation. I've been gf tomorrow for 2 weeks and I feel so much better already. I still get the urge to spin but I simply can't now. My debts from gambling will take about 4 years to clear, but now I can't gamble my debts will not increase. I was at my all time low and I needed to stop before it did my health serious damage.

We're all in the same boat here there's no judging only support

The Gambling for me was a form of escape when I was feeling emotionally vulnerable.

The Gambling for me at one I thought was exciting and fun, now I understand that Gambling is very unhealthy for me it is a form of self abuse.

Handing over our family finances to my wife was a very helpful mature things for me to do and also helped me start to value money and value myself.

I think that if I truly knew exactly how much money I had lost in total I would have a heart attack.

But it is not the money that was it was the time I lost I was unable to have healthy relationships with my family.

As I get healthier the fears in me reduce and my time is far more productive than any other time in my life.

Please put every effort you can in to your recovery the rewards are amazing.

That is why I stick my recovery today.

Guilt shame regret pain loss feeling a failure replaced with pride confidence and a higher self esteem.
