So here I am, 8 years of gambling, I stopped for 2 years with support off my mom, she took over my banking, didnt even though 3 digits to back of my card..

But started up again and won of course like any gambler keep putting it back hoping to win bigger, and then you don't, so what do u do put more in..

Got to point I used all my car savings and now hitting finacial hardship.. I have no cards loans as they won't give me none, which I'm grateful for, but my wage has now left n making all the gambeling sites rich, now I have got to explaine to my teenage lads when they go back to school I can't afford new school bags for them  how do I tell my family again that I failed.. im such a fool...

Hi, I hope you are doing well!

I feel you're pain... A few weeks ago I finally admitted that I had a problem, like you with the school bags I actually feared the kids going back to school, I could not see how I could possibly sort out what they needed and pay for it, it was just days since I blew the last bit of money we had... On top of the 30k I realised I owed from gambling and feed us for a few days, I was in a desperate mess, I don't know how but I did a little at a time and got the kids the essentials, paid the first round of fees,  that's not to say I'm on top of everything, far from it, but I can now keep us ticking over, I'm prioritising the important bills and working towards the rest but living is essential!

Be honest with the family, be honest with those you owe money too AND importantly be honest with yourself - do you enjoy gambling over paying a bill, feeding your family?  do you enjoy giving your money to scammers- Nope! Put your family and yourself first.

And be kind to yourself, own your issues, share them, and work on your recovery one day at a time ?

Hey kezza. 578 days ago I was in your position . I had wasted all my money and couldn’t afford to get my kids new clothes. I used that rock bottom moment for me to spur my recovery on. Every time I thought of gambling I saw their faces. I’m wishing you all the best and please message if you need to talk xxx

Hey there!

I hear you loud and clear, friend. Admitting you have a problem can be tough, especially when it comes to finances and gambling. It takes a lot of courage to confront those issues and start working towards a solution.
It sounds like you're taking some positive steps forward, which is awesome! Prioritizing the important bills and essentials is a great way to start. And being honest with yourself, your family, and those you owe money to is crucial.

Have you thought about seeking help or support for your gambling addiction? It can be really hard to tackle these things alone. My parents went through such a experience and it is practically impossible with no help(( ... So it's better to ask as early as possible.

Regardless, be kind to yourself and take things one day at a time. Recovery is a process, and it's important to celebrate the small victories along the way. Keep up the good work!

Remember that recovery is a process, and it is okay to ask for help. You are not alone when you face this challenge, and there are resources and support systems to help you overcome it. The most important thing is to take the first step toward recovery and work toward a healthy and happy future for yourself and your family.
