I need to stop gambling

Hi I’m Millie. I have been gambling for a while now . I am lying to my parents because I relapse what seems to be every month i feel so ashamed that I have let people down. I have depression have been on medication for years but I can’t seem to kick this gambling habbit . I’m 300 in to my overdraft I no it’s not a lot to some people but I need help now.

Hi Millie.

Sorry to hear about your relapse. I had a relapse nearly a month ago after 2 years not gambling. Thankfully I’m not back in debt but I lost a lot more than you did.

Best thing I done was to tell my parents, they supported me and also that doesn’t help with the financial situation. Just be happy that you’ve realised that £300 into your overdraft is enough to get help! 

My advice would be to get gambling blockers in place. Open up to friends and family and get support through them and from the other members on this site. It has helped me recover mentally from the relapse and I hope it can help you too.
