need help from people who have turned there life around

im new to the whole giving up addiction system a lot of people have been successful and beat it I would like to do the same so anyone with any tips, advice or words of experience please let me know

Well done for choosing a fresh start for yourself. You will find lots of people on here who will help you and I am sure many will post replies to you here. When you get chance browse around and look at other people's situations, you will find lots of ideas to help you. The 2014 Challenge is also excellent and you can join in that any time you want to, you will get a huge welcome there also. You can find that thread high up in the list in the Overcoming Problem Gambling section of this website. Good luck and well done again for the decision you made today to come here. It's the hardest part of the process, making a start. x

You’re most welcome to the forum. I’m glad that you’ve decided to do something about your gambling addiction, and also to seek help from here.

Yes, you’re right in saying that a lot of people have been successful in overcoming their addiction problem; thus it means it’s possible to achieve that, and so you can also do it. Try and put in place some strategies and boundaries that would help you refrain from gambling. You can get a lot of encouraging ideas from reading the posts from our forum. It is worth taking a look at successful strategies and boundaries which people in similar situation like yours have applied to help them overcome their addiction problem. Gambling gets worse if you don’t do anything about it.

It’s important that you take a responsibility of your recovery by putting in the efforts to observe the advice you receive from here.

Also, you can open a diary here and start posting too; that helps to keep you in check of the progress that you are making. Take it step by step, and be patient with yourself too.
