Hi All

Well where do i start, First went into the bookies with my dad aged 18. had a few quid on me saw a funny dog name in trap 6 at a stupid high price and it won, that's me addicted.

34 years later i have decided to seek help as it is now affecting my health plus also my wonderful partner.

I have jut reached out to GA and have a phone call planned for tomorrow, i am now hoping this is my first step to becoming a better person for me and my family.

Reading alot of stories in here and it has hit so many nails on the head how horrible this addiction is for all involved and how hard it is to admit to loved ones.

Good Luck to all and here is to hopefully my first day of trying to beat this.

Darren

Hi, i understand you coming here and you have made a step in the right direction, it’s difficult that first step, it made me feel very fragile and ashamed, but i raised my head and got on with it,, it’s a long road, stick with it though the good and the bad, be honest with yourself and never give up, . I was a slave to the gambling for decades, and i created some terrible times, those days are behind me now, although i have slipped up now and again,, and i am addressing that now, that’s why I’m active on here again, . So stick with it and i wish you well. Guard up

Hey

thanks for the replies 🙂

Well the weekend went by in a flash, stayed gamble free and enjoyed watching the sport instead of glued to my phone praying my bet would come in.

I have self excluded using gamstop and the emails are coming through from the companies saying this so i am pleased with that.

Also got my first GA meeting this week, a bloody long way to go but i am determined to beat this.

Good Luck to all and here if anyone wants a chat
