Hi Andy here,

I’m a chaser, I chase losses! No matter how small. I can’t stand losing. Well today I lost my biggest amount 3k in a few spins. And thought enoughs enough and I want to stop! It all started with match betting! And gradually got on to gambling. I want to get to a stage where I can happily match bet. Without the feeling to make more. I enjoy match betting and it’s risk free! But it’s the loses in gambling I can’t take and I want to change I’ve told close friends and GF. Who are supportive. I’ve deleted all gambling apps. Any advice would be great. Roulette is where I’ve lost my money! Thanks for listening.

now go and start to solve it. I suggest you make a small step today, go and get another hobby.

rethink

Hi Andy

The longer I’ve quit for is 6 months. It felt incredible and I had one momentary relapse 2 years ago and have been back on it ever since.

I’ve accumulated £8k of debt in 5 months. And before the birth of my second child have decided enough is enough.

I can only share what helped before.

Limit access to cash.limit access to cash. One more time limit your access to cash.

Think about someone or something you think is worth more. Get a photo in your wallet and let this be the reminder.

The biggest thing imo to stop gambling is self exclusion. Casinos , online , bookies,...

Hi andy, staying strong and will power will only get you so far, i have just relapsed after nearly one year GF. Thought i had it under control and didnt have the proper blocks in place, were so many new online sites i could join and thought a little 5 pound here and there woud be fun. And just like you i chase any little loss, those 5 pounds turn into hunderds. Try registering with gamestop. And match betting is never risk free if your a CG your always chasing that buzz. Good luck with your journey

My gambling problem started from football bets, I used to go fishing every weekend and I used to sit in my bivvy waiting for a fish and always turned to football bets, over 5 years I have accumulated £4000 debt, at times I've been good with my money and paid things off but when I get paid from work I always find myself on my phone on a betting site, today I lost my weekly wage and had enough of it, I have a loan payment coming out next week that I will not be able to pay! Gambling for weak individuals I guess I fall into that category, but today I found the will power to self exclude myself from every gambling site for 5 years, hopefully a road to recovery starting today!

Well done mate.

I'm joining you on this bloody hard route to becoming gambling free!

I'm a fisherman too, if you're ever in South Wales I'm up for a stalk in the sun while not betting.

Tight lines brother.

Your story is similar to mine. Everytime i get paid the money goes on gambling. I only got paid on friday and already down £650. Also in similar debt as well (£5,000) and simply had enough as well! I have 7.4k savings tucked away which I refuse to touch but its been sitting at that for 3years now!

Well done keeping hold of savings before joining here!

Lock them away, I have opened a savings account that makes me wait 30 days before accessing funds. Going to use it to help me lock my own away when the urges inevitably begin. Been a couple days since last bet and looking forward to it being 10, 100, 10k!

We can do this boys and girls. Chins up chests out and March your way to a massive life win!
