Hi everyone. I don’t really know what to do or what to write but they said it could help me so I’m willing to try. I’m 20 years old and suffer with gambling. In the last 2 days alone I have lost 3 and half thousand pound alone on gambling. And that’s just the tip of it. I’ve tried to stop on numerous occasions. I can’t. It’s came to the point where I struggle to find any enjoyment elsewhere besides gambling. It’s like a thrill. It’s like I need a fix of it even though I know the consequences. But that doesn’t stop me, I genuinely want to stop. But I don’t know if I’ve got the strength and the will to stop. I don’t really know if this will help but it’s worth a try I suppose

Hi @john_10 you’re here and that’s the first step, there are so many things out there to help you! Have you put any blocks in place to help you stop? What type of gambling do you use? Keep talking on here because it does help to hear others that are in the same awful situation! I never thought I’d be able to stop and I’ve not gambled now for 52 days, each day gets a bit easier once you realise this is an addiction and one that you can hide pretty much by that I mean there are no physical outward signs so the addiction will tell you to keep doing it but you’ve got to listen to your brain and your mental state! Reading your post you come across as pretty broken and sad, I hope you start to feel better in fact in a few days you will feel better! If you stop the gambling, have you spoken to any loved ones about what’s happening? X

Hiya john

Sorry I pressed the wrong button.  You can lose so much in the space of no time. I had a relapse after being gamble free for 365dys but in the space of 1hr I lost nearly  £8000 on roulette online. I can't think of another addiction we're you can lose that amount of money so all I can say to you is talk to gamecare about blocks you can put in place, talk to your bank to see if they can block gambling on your card. Some people give there money to someone they trust that way you can get money as you need it plus it takes that bit off worry off yourself if you do relapse it limits the harm you can do. Don't try to chase what you've lost my friend as you could just get deeper in. Your only 20yrs old John that's half my age and if you can stop now think off the money you'll save aswell as your mental health as it effects us all and if your anything like me you'll hate that feeling after you've lost. Reach out John get all the help you can and remember your not alone and your defiantly not week as it's an addiction and powerful at that. I hope this helps and if you need to talk we're all here to support
