Hi.

New to Gamcare so just wanted to say hello. I'm signed up with Gamstop, which is great for stopping gambling online, but it's keeping out of the shops that's the problem. Down £300 just from this morning for a few small wins and ONE bonus?.

You have to self exclude the temption going to be very high for the first 21 days, change your route if u have, give up your cards and only take enough money what u need it is extreme if that not option leave your cash at home, compulsive gambliers dont know when to stop "chasing" is the worst as your mind can't comprehend a loss so u end up putting everything u have got then regret it later on, think of this way if their was no compulsive gambliers how many of these businesses would surive? They require compulsive gambliers like us to make a profit which is why majoirty of time you lose on a chase they let to win occasionally when your down to confuse your brain it could happen again when reality it rarely happens, gamecare good as u can see the reality what could happen if you carry on the question you need to ask yourself is do u want to stop lossing or do u want to actually stop you have to be honest with yourself, it can be done

Sorry Tazman just saw this. Both financially and mentally it is bad. I'm on tablets for depression & anxiety, alongside others, and there's honestly little I get excited about bar the cinema.

Was in l*******s today and put in £500.00 across 3 machines with ZERO bonuses?!

Hi Brian, I'm sorry to read you're in the doldrums, stuck on a hamster wheel and frittering it all away. When it's odds against- which is all gambling - then if we keep playing, there's only one way to go - £0.

Here's one way of looking at things. Money (wealth) is deferred pleasure. It can be used at any time. You are wasting this precious resource now, on nothing, where it could bring you so much more in future. I feel for you, I really feel sad for you. All that you're missing out on, not just the money, but the time. I feel for your relationships with family and loved ones, there is probably an impact.

I've been there Brian, and I'm still getting out of it with careful money management strategies so I couldn't gamble even if I wanted to.

Do chat to Gamcare, or anyone you trust, and talk it through.

Remember, it's tomorrow's fun, enjoyment, needs - all wasted today. It's such a crying shame, isn't it, but it doesn't have to be like this. Remember, if you win you keep going and lose in the end. That's the pattern. So why start a session eh, what is the point. None.

Wishing you all the best, do consider taking these first steps. Talk to someone.
