Hi everyone,

After reading many posts over the last week (and calling it time on my gambling habit), I thought it would be right for me post.

So yesterday, I called it time on my 4 year, out of control habit.

I am 23 years old and have probably lost over 15,000 in this time, BUT saying that, I have had 3 amazing years of university AND have a well paid job in the city.

However, now its getting too much. I gamble all my wage, I have multiple pay day loans and just LOVE gambling. My gambling ranges from sports betting to sports betting to sports betting. In other words, I love sport, I love watching it, playing it, and god d**n betting on it.

THEREFORE, gambling for me hasn't just been about habit exactly, its been a part of my life because I love watching sport and sport will never ever go away from me.

BUT, its time to stop. I have arranged payment plans with my loans and BELIEVE its time to save save and STOP.

I want to stop for good and I do believe that my time has come.

Thoughts, tips, advice are all welcome!!!?

P.S Download the self control app if you have a mac, I have blocked every gambling site known to man.

BTW, THIS IS DAY 1 OF NOT GAMBLING. I will post on this topic every day to let you know how I am getting on.

The best remedy for the urge seems to be getting on here and seeing what it has done to peoples lives.

I CANNOT let this go on any longer.

Self exclude from every bookies by home and work, ok you can't ban from every one in the uk, but the home ones and work ones and maybe the route you use, ok it may take time, but i think time well spent

Stop saying to yourself u love watching sports, that way u will always watch sth and gambling urge % 100 will get u.. If u really want to stop u need to reduce your watching and increase doing sport like gym or playing football with friends..i gambled 13 years and big time regreting , u r very young and if u want to have proper life be away from gambling my friend, dont destroy your life saying to yourself u love watching sports ..take care and good luck ..

DAY 2... no urges no nothing. Just browsing the internet for more facts stats and stories. Came across this James Petherick on youtube. Compulsive gambler blogs which are just horrible and crazy to watch.

Anyway, must say my brain has never relaxed so much in the last 48 hours.

Hoping this will be the way for the rest of my life (I'm only a baby at 23).

Final thought: Someone please stay with me and help me through this.
