Hi,

I havent used my gamcare account for quite some time, but after relapsing recently and feelings that things are starting to escalate once more, I have decided to revisit my blog in order to reign in any more temptations i may have.

Once I had logged into the site, I noticed that had i not gambled since my first post, I would have been over a year gamble free now. This made me feel instantly guilty about the relapse. Although, I have gambled I have not done so in a way that has affected my home life or my job, but like I say, I get the feeling it could escalate.

I actually had quite a large win and without promoting winning, i had fun with the winnings and treated friends and family. However, this also give me a feeling of invincibility (I could not lose). Such a stupid way of thinking considering what I have been through on so many occasions with this vile addiction.

I was attending GA and using this site an awful lot and can honestly say that it does help - MASSIVELY!!

So......here I am again for another go - Much more positive this time, as I know i can do it having done so well previously. I intend to use this site every night I am working as this seems to be when I am more susceptible to gambling.

My fix has always been roulette in whatever form (Bookies, Casino, Online) although, I have started to bet more on horses and football again recently. It was this time last year I was finding it very difficult due to Cheltenham coming up, but I achieved my goal. This time will be no different.

Thank you all for your support past and present - I will encourage and take advice with open arms.

Thanks

Mace

Hi Mace,

Welcome back!

While it's difficult to cope with and admit to a relapse, I am really glad that you have decided to post again and to continue your recovery. Keep doing what worked before, you mention GA and this site, and you will see that you don't have to start from scratch. You continue where you left. Maybe pop into our chatrooms again, too.

I look forward to reading your posts in the coming days!

Keep moving forward, you don't have to do this alone.

Kind wishes

Gabriele

Good luck Maceymase!

Read this and your original thread. Quite inspiring that this got you in so much of its grip and you escaped for a whole year or so. I'm sure you can do it again!

Just wondering if you have self excluded from everywhere in your area and online? In my opinion with the amount of gambling advertisements and book makers / casinos in everyday life this affects your subliminal mind driving around or watching TV so much that when you have an active interest and enjoyment in gambling (at first) that exclusions are the only way to stop wasting money.

Hope you can get back on track and boss it on the day counter again. I hope I can, working hard on that! ...

Thanks very much for your support folks - Yes Reddy, it is very difficult with the sheer amount of adverts that pop up here there and everywhere, however gambling is a business like any other and that is something that we just have to deal with unfortunately. Keep working hard together and we can all get away from this infectious disease and continue with normal lives. I found it so rewarding last time, and a slip of my guard meant that i fell into the same trap. I cant tell you how guilty i felt when i revisited this site to see what I had wasted but hey ho......We go again. UNITED STRENGTH IS STRONGER - VIS UNITA FORTIOR
