Hi all
Spent 20 to 30minutes on direct chat with a nice lady from Gamcare this morning.
In short I need to break out of this destructive cycle. Lost around £50000 to one online bookmaker in the past 12months. Had a call from their due diligence department last week and as a result have self excluded for 5yrs.
The casino was the main culprit as regards the losses. I have always gambled on sports betting and without wining large sums have not lost large amounts either. It is the Casino which has been the problem area and being a VIP customer I have been treated to events as well as promotions to keep it all fueled.
I have been advised to read some recovery diaries before I call GamCare back again.
Wondering if my situation is similar in any way to others and what route should i take to get out of this spiral before it gets out of my control which thankfully it still just is in my control.
Thanks money don
I have already self excluded from the one website I use and am starting to read through info on this website.
Will be a long hard road ahead but at least my debts will be reduced going forwards and not increased.
Money Don ... Your post is one of the best I've ever read on here.
You describe the absolute futility of gambling perfectly and your post should be printed off, framed and stood next to the computer / laptop / tablet of everyone with an online gambling problem and / or carried in the wallet / purse of those addicted to the bookies and physical casinos!
