I unfortunately realised I had a gambling problem when everything had spiralled out of control.
I mainly gambled on horse racing, it gave me such a buzz. I loved it, that feeling of a nice priced winner.
As soon as I lost, I had to go again, next races, studying the form as if I was some genius that thought they could beat the bookies. Turns out I'm really not that good at picking winners. I would endlessly place larger stakes at ridiculous odds to try and win my money back and sometimes I did. But I was greedy. Wanted more. So I'd go again and before you know it I've lost even more.

I find it really quite difficult to explain in words why I did this. I suppose it's that feeling of determination to win all the money back when you've lost it all. I turned to taking out payday loans to fund my gambling addiction. Here it took a turn for the worse. I owed out 4 figure sums (virtually all my wage) at the end of each month and to live the life I wanted to live, would take out another payday loan which I would pay at the end of the next month whilst meanwhile that cash was being pumped into the bookies online sites. This continued over the period of a year when it all just built up into direct debits over 5 month periods. It took me to breaking point.

I have managed to sort my financial situation out but still get the urge to gamble everyday, every morning, every hour. I'm just looking for some good advice and guidance so I can nip this in the bud whilst I'm this young.

I'm essentially in the same situation buddy.. Horse racing is bar none one of the most fullfilling experiences when you get it right. The process of endlessly studying the form and scoring is a feeling like no other. Unfortunately the massive payouts that come around every so often fuel guys like us even more.. and the mental stimulation the handicapping provides us is so great. I truely love the sport and want to be able to enjoy it without placing any more bets. Best of luck we can do this.
