hi im ollie,

im a 24 year old male who has been gambling since the age of 18 i have been on this site before but didnt focus enough on quitting and went back to gambling. im addicted to playing roulette on fobt i will play and win a little then i will chase all my loses till all my money is gone. i keep having to borrow money off friends just to get by every month and im sick of it i wish i could have money left in the bank without wanting to put it in those horrible machines. i want to live like a normal person but im not going to be able to untill i kick this habbit. when im busy doing other things i dont think about gambling but its hard to keep yourself occupied all of the time. if anyone has any tips it would be greatly appreciated. i want to stop this now so i can have a better life in future. i was playing online roulette but after blocking all online accounts i now just go to the bookies, maybe the only thing left to do is self exclude from all the local shops.

like i said any help would be great

Hello Ollie

I'm going through the same situation them fobt machines are the devils toy! You have £500 in your pocket and before you know it your on your last £20 feeling so ashamed and empty inside. Best steps are to self exclude yourself from all your online accounts which you have done which is best start. Now go this website maybe today or when you get some free time..

http://self-exclusion.co.uk/ This website has a number you ring them and they will track all the bookies in your area! All you need to do is email them a pic of yourself and they do the rest and get you banned from all of them around you. They did it for me and banned me from 15 I think now it's working a treat! Good luck aswell with all this I hope you don't get dragged back in to it all.

Hi ollie and welcome to the site. You will find lots of help here.
you are not alone young man there is 10000s of us that these machines have ruined, myself included . Ive had a terrible issue with them for 8 years.
main thing now ollie is too put blocks in place . Self exclude as previously stated. Try get someone to handle youre cash... if thats not possible only leave the house with what you need. Bank card at home ect?.
Have a good read of these forums and recovery diaries. Fobts are a common issue running through them .
You are young man with youre whole life ahead of you! Be positive my friend ... say too yourself " today i will not gamble" and try hard to make it happen m8 ... one day at a time.
i wish you well in youre journey to be gamble free.
