Hi Andy.

Its never enough because you  now begin to realise its beyond the money with this addiction.

What you actually need is the reality check of trying to explaining that to a non gambler because you know its wrong and it looks crazy. It looks crazy because it is! Its a drug addiction and illness of the mind

Your mind needs to heal and it only does that when youve been through the cold turkey of abstention with full monitoring.

Its a drug addiction which only makes sense to an ill and delusional mind. In a gambling moment you want to fly to heaven or you are making grim decisions on a trance rush as you chase losses.

Its not an income scheme and you will lose. Most if not all problem gamblers dont like losing because thay have sold it to you as a winners game....It is for the gambling dens because they carefully calculate a hedge fund over all activity.

All the risk is with you and once you become addicted its hopeless. You need to stop now or its got worse horrors in store for you

Get help and the future is yours to regain control of your life.

Best wishes from everyone on the forum

This is the formula. You need more of the same to get on with the high.  Your brains reward chemical is called dopamine. That chemical is what keeps you interested to do different things.  It is also the chemical that keeps you focused on what you are doing ie gambling. You get a higher level of dopamine when you gamble. In some cases like an addiction, it becomes very high. To get that high that you need you will always need to increase your gambling to keep the dopamine at its current level or make the dopamine spike higher. See it as a runway that becomes ever longer.

So your addiction keeps you trying to go down that runway as far as it goes every time. Now compare this to your brain who keeps on saying. If I only can get this win I will stop. You quickly realise that you are being duped and tricked by..... Yes, your own brain is doing that to you. So when you realise that you should trust your brain less and the science more then you will start to see real progress in getting better.

All the best

C
