I still remember when this was announced and was heralded as a great breakthrough and a true reflection of how the government were out to help problem gamblers. I myself thought it was great news but let me tell you…since the bookmakers were lawfully bound to make it £2 maximum spins they just moved the goalposts and added 2 keepers. The payouts as worse than ever and the various ultra spin games where you need 3 symbols to leave the bass game are a disgrace! I’ve often went through £300 or 150 spins if you like without the 3 matching money bags or symbols showing up! I lose more money than ever in quicker times since the £2 spins were introduced. This massive helpful breakthrough is the WORST thing that ever happened to slot addicts like me. Truly sickening and has destroyed my mental health due to the fact I can’t see how they can be possibly monitored as the “randomness” of these games are now about 1 win out of at least £100 or 50 spins. Let’s get them reduced to 10p a spin and a £50 jackpot if it’s not all about the taxes filling the governments pockets.
They made the change because people were getting ruined in no time at all and it was getting embarrassing for the government that there where more bookies with 2 fobdie machines popping up than pubs and pizzerias combined. Slots / fobdies have always had a poor payout rate. Reducing bets to 10p could stop new players but will increase time for the ones that already hooked. And this will still not end the problem. You have the online slots that will take the business away from the bookies etc etc.
The only real change comes when you decide that enough is enough and it is time to either micro dose your playing, which means finding a level of gambling that you can live to loose the money with. Or taking a bold new step that includes stopping your gambling and reprogramming yourself to do something else. Both of these things are doable. Choice is something we all have believe it or not. It is tough when your reward system in the brain is hijacked, but you can make decisions regarding this problem anyway and if you chose to do that. Better things will start to happen.
I wish you well!

Well TFC I've been looking at how little to nothing they do and it's a disgrace
For a start £2 a spin won't really save anyone and one scandal is called fortune spins which is essence mean you could spend hundreds or thousands just to get to the main advertised "feature" with a"bonus"which more often than not means nothing.
They used to be called high roller spins when I was active bought in £10 to £50 blocks.....now people can just waste endless max stakes on similar if not worse odds
It's an example how little has changed and how it's all about hiding the truth and fiddling with words.....the gambling commission should be ashamed for not monitoring this properly. They should be ashamed for doing nothing effective to help people
Then autoplay was supposed to be removed and spin times lengthened....they were also going to remove winning sounds from a part loss.
I have done some research by looking into this and nothing seems to have changed on the high street
You see its all a twist or a con to get people to ignore the real odds as they are being drip fed hooked
When is a bonus not really a bonus......when it's advertised on a gambling machine......we can get into semantics but all these smoke and mirror features are designed to part people from their money fast.....and they do.....very Fast!
I repeat that most of their measures won't really help.....the credit card one may help but I see so much misery related to gambling
The problem is I feel my anger building and I have to try and remain calm to focus on my recovery. I just dont see anything serious being done to protect people
Best wishes to everyone on the forum
