Checking in still gamble free (40 days or there about)
My heart goes out to all of the soldiers that have been struggling recently, I sincerely hope that you find the strength to brush yourselves down and fight again. We are all here to help along the way. Positivity and support of others is paramount to aid success.

Wishing you all a blessed week. xx
Thank you for the birthday wishes mr b, just got in so probably not making much sense but extremely proud of myself will explain tomorrow when I have sobered up. Lol
Hi all, on holiday until next Monday..... god I need the rest. Anyways checking in 320 GF days.
P.s Mr B I'm 35 now 🙁
Del 🙂
Thank you Mr B and the rest of the troop for welcoming me to help fight the war. Day 5 for me today and I don't have the opportunity (self-exclusions, computer blocks in place) to gamble. This is what will help me fight the battle I am sure. I have not looked forward to payday for a long time but now I know that I cannot gamble things will be different. Just one question, does the urge ever go away? Will that fact that I have removed the opportunity really help or am I just delaying the urge. I so want to be free and like a 'normal' person again.
Well done to everyone.
Matty - keep strong, we are new soldiers but we are not alone.

Good morning everyone. Checking in on 198 gamble free days. Some great posts this week and fantastic to see lots of new people joining the challenge. It's a great place to be folks and I cannot reiterate the personal benefits that I have gained since last Dec.
Have a great weekend.
Mike
The day after the night before.......
Slightly hungover from my birthday night out but I had a lovely evening which ended up in the casino!
Now with trepidation and alcohol in my system I went along with everyone else I didn't want to be seen as the party pooper as it was my birthday , my husband was very anxious about going but we went with a plan of action which was sit away from the gambling tables and it went really well. Not one of our party gambled we just sat there having a few drinks listening to the dj and having a good time. I am really proud of myself and proved to myself that I have started to get stronger. In hindsight I know that maybe I should not have put myself in that position but I did come through the other side unscathed.
Keep strong everyone

Afternoon all,
Sadly, the weather in central Scotland is the same as it is at Wimbledon, so just updating some spreadsheets in advance of tomorrow's updates.
It's a big day for the group today, with some very big milestones in there, albeit some of celebrating are yet to check in!! Fingers out folks!!
Babybluesky (200 days today!!!), delboygolf (our newest Century Club member on 100 days!!) and Strange (50 days) - congratulations to all of you........collectively, you 3 account for nearly a year of our groups total gamble free tally!! Brilliant going!!
We've got 38 soldiers at base camp and 9 still to return before midnight tonight - just got your check in Drew - enjoy the footy mate!
Elfie - it's bizarre you ask that question - read my post from last night and you'll get my view on things!
Have a great Saturday night everyone.
Mr Brightside
Hi this is fitzy checking in , 30 odd days clean not really keeping count , for me just puts unecessary pressure on you. Just my opinion.
No gambling to report still since first joined.
Infact barely had gambling thought recently , been busy bee with different things. Family BBQ , running and snooker , catching up with friends , reading , and working . So many better things to do than monumental waste of time that is gambling.
For moment feel strong and head in good place , long may it continue even through hard times in life that inevitiably will occure .
Will never let complacency enter my world though just as I will never let the waste of mental energy and time that is called gambling.
Hope everyone well in group , lots off ppl doing great , proud to be part of this winning team:) ( all winners every day we don't gamble )
Stay strong everyone , thanks again for starting this group mr bright side .
Fitzy
Team, checking in but news not good. Just had a shameful 24hrs. Lot going on at moment and on top of that a tough wk at work meant what should've been an enjoyable Fri night out with friends ended up with me feeling guilty about overspending my self imposed budget so passing a bookies I tried cover myself. Failed badly and with the bravado of drink I ploughed on. 400 down led me online to my phone - jeez I thought I could cause damage on computer but on mobile it's even more scary. I had no thought for what I was doing and now I've blown a load of money I don't have onto my credit card. Feeling terrible right now. Sorry I've let you all down as much as myself.
Thanks Mr Brightside. I had read your post but have just re-read it again. Until I am stronger the barriers will remain in place. Still early days for me.
Best wishes to you all.
Elfie
checking in day 29 today. No gambling thoughts today still going strong but felt very anxious today think its something I suffer from after all the years of gambling!
