Hi Mr B, great update which inspires us to keep going. Checking in for another gamble free week. Keep being strong everyone, there'll always be events in life that'll try to stop our recovery but we must think of consequences and not allow ourselves to be drawn into that old life again.

Hi Mr B, thank you so much for doing this, it has been vital for me and so many others, checking in gamble free still and a lot of it is down to this forum, thank you so much
Checking in ~ I think its Day 122 on Sat Pm for me ! It does get hard the longer you go to keep a track - but its still a nice number to reach!!
Today I have the heating technicians [plumbers] swapping out our old for nice new radiators and as usual, all is not going to plan! This sort of "stress" would usually have me hiding in a corner somewhere and playing poker to hide from the reality of a house in builder turmoil and having to change decisions me & the OH have made [usually after a lot of healthy debate like where the rads should move to etc!]!
Anyways can happily say I haven't, won't and din't even think about gambling or the lap top until logging on now for a tea break to read Mr B's update post and check the football challange [yep, still bottom!!].
And again, as usual, great stats and report - very interesting re the numbers, and proves the longer you abstain, the better it all eventually gets, just takes time for financials and some family to settle down! Great marching everyone. I am sure lost soldiers will wander back and a new army joining would boost the numbers and moral!
Have a great week everyone whilst we meander into those Autumnal colours and weather - just hope the rads all get sorted and the heating will be ready & waiting come the cold snap!
Kind regards, Cliff
Hi Uncle Buck and magicman82 welcome to the 2014 Challenge. If you would like to join the challenge then please read the first page and if you feel ready to commit to your own recovery and supporting the rest of the challenge members then please post again before midnight on Saturday stating how many days you are gamble free and a bit about yourself. Mr B will then add you to the numbers when he does the update. It would be good to have you marching with us and I'm sure you would benefit greatly from the advice and support given. Keep to your resolve, recovery is so good 🙂 Mama B
Greetings from Baggins Towers - checking in on one's Day 213.
Thank you to Mr B for the usual fascinating and fact-filled update. Yes, it certainly does get better with time - I certainly feel as if my brain has 'healed' and know (well with as much certainty as any of us can have) that the pull of those gambling sites has gone for good. I hope that all Challengers, especially those who have just joined our happy band, come to feel that peace of mind.
Just back from a bucolic day in Kent - autumn sunshine and hops. Perfect.
Best wishes to all,
Joanna

Morning everyone!
It's the weekend - thankfully!!
Ringerbell - so sorry to hear your news soldier - you and the family are in my prayers. Stay strong mate.
Duncs - it's simply awesome having you with us - I feel a new strength having you walking shoulder to shoulder with us!
Magicman and UncleBuck - I've left a note on the front page of this thread for you both - would be great to have you with us!
There's 11 soldiers yet to return to base this week but a number of names in there that I'm very confident have the strength to get back to the safety of the team - Saturdays have been busy days recently!
Would be great to see a few more missing team members checking in too!!
A quick reminder that I've got a 10k tomorrow morning - I'm running for the Scottish Association for Mental Health. The update will come at some point but may be at some random time over Sunday/Monday - please bear with me.
Don't forget that it's a monthly update this week and the end of Q3.......we're in the last quarter of the year!! If you want included in the monthly update the. You need to be checked in!!
Have a great Saturday everyone!!
Mr B

Mark
Good morning everyone, checking in on day 151. Apologies for missing last week, i got taken away for the weekend, with no children to look after, and i was too busy enjoying the freedom that brings. The made weekends continue with my daughter's birthday today, so i will be surrounded by approx 20 3 year olds. Yikes. Better go and blowup some balloons. Have great weekend everyone and keep strong.
Morning soldiers
Checking in on another gamble free week. Completely missed my 100 mark but have realised by events this week that there are others a lot worse off than me and this shook me from my whinging, whiny, self pity mood. Needless to say many hours talking to a friend in the garden about his problems took the focus away from everything going on in my life, including my centenary. So have now marked it in gold on my calendar.
Still proud to be part of your troop and marching forward. Better go read everyone's diaries now.
Keep on forwards.
