Thank you Mr B - it's good to feel part of the team and I'm determined to make those double figures and more... Best wishes to all team members for a good week.
Joanna
Thanks again for the mention Mr B, this challenge is more addictive than gambling and im loving tracking my savings and slowly paying off the debts plus having more free time to do the things I want. Roll on next Sunday for the big 50.
2 days completed...too early I guess to feel "cured"...gonna have to try every trick in the book to avoid watching Cheltenham races..luckily have made business calls for Tues and Thurs...it's funny cos I gave up smoking 14 months ago, just like that, and can have an occasional P**f when on holidays but stop again as soon as i get back, and yet impossible to have an occasional bet without plunging deep into mire..all the negative bad thoughts are in my mind about the money that has been drained away, which could be so useful in the coming months and years...still, got to keep positive spin on this effort to stop now...
Thank you Mr B for the time and effort you are putting into this thread.for me and many others its such a great help.well done to everyone on here and good to see the numbers growing!
Hey, really want to be a part of this challenge and I'm on day 5 today. Feeling ok with the occasional urge. I come clean with the wife and she's handling my finances. She's also been very supportive!
I'm in a positive frame of mind and really want to put an end to this chapter of my life, a chapter that's gone on too long now!
I have spent more hours this week on this website than I spent chasing my last losses. That's got to be a positive.
Look forward to working with all of you towards target!
Let's do this!
Jonathan
Thanks for all the kind words about the update folks - believe me, it's a pleasure!!
Hi Kickitnow - hope you are doing ok - some great diary entries and stuff - think you've made a great start. Please post once more this week with an update as to how you are doing and I'll add you to the team on Sunday......gladly!!
Keep up the good work,
Mr Brightside
So I've been lying in my bed trying to get to sleep for ages.......lots on my mind just now.........so I was thinking about the challenge and how Linda and BBS are a quarter of a year now that the clock has ticked past midnight.........many many congratulations ladies - outstanding effort and hope you're feeling really good about it?
However, something has been bugging me about last nights update and all day I've not been able to think what it was......something important was missing - but as I lie weary eyed, it's just come to me what I missed.......and how on earth could I???? Such a significant day for one of our team........and another member of the Centenary Club!!!!!!
It was in my notes for last night, but I don't know why I never wrote it in.......so here it is.......
The_Rock - you are the man, you are that new member - congratulations........a month longer than you've ever gone before and today Tuesday 11th March........you are 100 days free from gambling. I am so so so please for you and know how much this will mean. Superb!!
Mr B - 92 days clean........but clean for '14!!!!!
Well done all of us and thankyou Mr B for a lovely update, always look forward to reading it and watching the milestones. Checking in for this week x
Hi Mr B and all fellow Challengers -
Checking in early this week (Day 9 for me) as have just learned our daughter has gone into labour, so the rest of my week may well be cancelled!
Good wishes to all and power to the collective elbow!
Joanna
Thanks for the welcome. I will post later on this week.
Look forward to the challenge ahead!
Jonathan
Hi folks, sorry for not checking in last week!
I'm still going strong. Not quite sure how many days it is now, but it feels brilliant to have all my money still in my pocket.
It's Cheltenham festival this week, I'm really really tempted to have a bet. I feel as though I have control of my gambling and could limit myself to £20, but do I do it or not?! Any advice would be brilliant. Do it? Or not?
Surely I'm not the only one tempted by the Chelt Fest...
I think you know the answer deep down. Don't do it, if you win you will not stop and if you lose it can also trigger another bet to chase.
Day 6 for me after the first time admitting I have a problem since starting to bet 15 years ago!
Ram- its up to you in the end but watching my lot head for the races today made me feel a bit jealous- ill be honest. Not just for the betting but the fun that I always had at the races(it was the only place I went with a certain amount and if I lost I lost and if I won I spent it on drinks!) but if I tried to just do a couple of bets then I would probably get back into my old ways fairly quickly and I do not want that.
So like I said up to you but be careful!
Linda
Hi all, just wanted to say hello as I haven't been around for a while,
The good news is that im still gamble free on 48 days now! 🙂
The reason I haven't been around is that I thought I would have a break from the gamcare forums. I feel that coming on here every day is keeping gambling fresh in my mind, when really I want to be putting it to the back of my mind as much as possible.
I still log on every Sunday to see Mr B's updates and to see how everyone is getting on.
Good luck everyone stay strong, we can do this!!

hope everyone is very well! Just checking in :o) all is well here and I am on day 11.. double figures at last! the first week took forever to come in! Such a shame I ruined my streak before.. Really would have loved to have kept 2014 gamble free.. but hey there's always next year for that!
Everyone seems to be doing fab! Some have made 2014 gamble free - excellent! Lovely to hear! You all really inspire me to keep going! I know its all worth it and the rewards will just be fantastic!
Hang in there people! We can do this!
Much love
