4 days completed...so far so good...but it's literally one day at a time for me...managed to swerve Cheltenham info yesterday by unfollowing several twitter sites for the week...

mr B!! I was just going to tick you off for not celerating my milestone but you redeemed yourself 😉 Seriously another top update and I really am in awe of your commitment to this project.

I just want to say that (I suspect like many on here) I was the most chronic compulsive gambler. I couldn't even go a few hours without a bet, I would be late for work, somedays not return at all and not be able to pass my betting shop without going in. I could not see a future for myself or how I would even manage a day without a bet. To reach 100 days without placing a single bet is beyond my own expectations but now I'm here I don't want to stop now, I'm fully committed to the next 100 days and the 100 after that. This challenge has played no small part in that either, it's been a real driving force in my determination. And if I can do this, so can anyone.

That's a great post rock! You have said pretty much everything that I feel. I didn't think I could survive 85 days without a bet but this forum had greatly helped me and inspired me! I myself used to allow gambling to make me miss work or be late for work. I can relate to everything you've said. Well done on 101 days and I'm looking forward to meeting you in January to celebrate completion of the challenge.

Evening everyone!!

Some awesome posts since Sunday's update - plus not just milestones by way of numbers of days but because what the week represents for a lot of you.

While I appreciate the comments around updates and stuff, the privilege for me comes from being a part of so much much more than the administration of it.

I'm proud to walk with you all.

Half way for the week everyone - get checking in!!!

Good morning everyone,

Checking in today on 13 weeks gamble free..... It's been a tough week, and probably my hardest due to Cheltenham being on and everywhere I look it seems to be in my face. Facebook, Twitter, News channels on TV, papers, Radio, I just cannot seem to get the thing out of my head. But I have remained strong, kept busy during the day and reminded myself of the consequences if I placed even the smallest of bets.

Have a good week and enjoy the sunshine.

Mike

Evening Manup75,

Well done on your 1 week gamble free so far and may it long continue. Mr Brightside is the forum guru and I am sure he and the rest of the soldiers involved would love you to join the mighty 2014 challenge.

The rules etc are on the first page and you are correct in saying you need to check in by 3pm on each Sunday.

Good luck.

Mike

Evening everyone,

It's shaping up to be a pretty good week! New members times three already - welcome to Manup, FlyingFox and Kickitnow - delighted you've joined us and hope you get a lot from the group & the challenge.....but also manage to give a lot back!

Loads of milestones and victories in what is a really big week for the group and potentially tough week with all the media coverage of the big events. Informal congrats to everyone - formal congrats will come at the weekend!!

For the Glasgow guys, Bier Halle on Gordon Street (just off Buchanan Street across from TGI Fridays) - any time after 7 on Friday night - I'm the completely bald headed guy with the blue shirt!! Really hope that Del and Craig at least will make it at some point!!

I'm Mr Brightside and I'm checking in on 95 days - going well, still tempted........but day by day I'm getting there.

Stay strong team!!
